Are there any song writers who couldn't be accused of whatever it is that Weller is being accused of?

Probably not, but sometimes you can make it too obvious.
To be honest I was never a big fan of the Jam 'at the time' chiefly because Weller really got up my nose, but I've warmed to them since. To follow up the earlier comment about lyrics though, I can't stand English Rose. If it had been written by a non-English speaker I could possibly forgive the 'me from she' line. Lazy.
