                                  Sorcerer is so underrated

A previously unreleased Coltrane Dolphy gig from 1961, discovered in a New York library, has just been announced

In more recent years I’ve come around to the belief that those four albums, plus ‘Miles In The Sky’ and ‘Filles De Kilimanjaro’ represent Miles’ greatest period.

I think Dolphy was with Coltrane for only a brief period but in that time they played quite a few shows at the Village Vanguard. I wonder if it's one of those recordings that has surfaced.

gjw, agreed this period of Coltrane is in the stellar regions. The Village Vanguard recordings are indeed incredible, all of them. This new set comes from a different venue, not to be confused, The Village Gate.
