A friend of mine introduced me to this band last week. I'm late, obviously. Very Songs:Ohia vibe, which makes sense since JM is in reference to Jason Molina. Also, recommended if you're a Neil Young fan.

And while I'm flooding the music forum, one last one for now. A really cool garage/psych song from The Paragons out of North Carolina. These guys look like really young teens. I have no idea how old they were when they wrote the song.

So many supporters seem to sing 'football's cummy gnome' now that I no longer hear the original words.

Another Swedish band with high energy, but coming from hardcore rather than the garage:

Camp Trash has an emo-ish indie rock sound. I've linked to the full band EP below, but I really like this acoustic version of the song, "Bobby." Keep watching if you want the "at home" dog barking and the dog deciding s/he wants to be on camera.

Olive Lawn have a sound that blends Mudhoney with garage rock/proto punk. There are a few rippers on the second record, but I'll go with this one:

I always thought Tommy Tutone was the stage name of the singer, but it turns out Tommy and the Tu-tones became Tommy Tutone. Heard this one on the radio and reminded why it was such a huge hit. But the opening verse is sonically rawer than I remember.
