I’ll bet GP was planning to go with ‘Cold P-Orridge’ but thought better of it.

      RIP, indeed.

Suzanne Moore...again...(click to see Ronson's reply)

Ironically, Moore also promotes a documentary on notorious misogynist Miles Davis

I would have gone with Apocalypse P-Orridge for the title.

Another death where the comment 'RIP' seems particularly risible given the deceased's attitude to Christianity.

It sounds like an urban myth, but I genuinely was going out with a Disco Diva about 1980 who picked up a copy of TB’s 20 Jazz Funk Greats that had been misfiled (possibly deliberately) in the Dance Albums section. She wasn’t impressed. Ho ho.

                One doesn’t preclude the other.

Besides, how many times have you said ‘goodbye’ to somebody when you’d rather he or she would just f*** off forever? It’s just an expression. S/He contributed something.

I loved TG, was lucky enough to see them in 78 and have a couple of singles, United is one of my favourite all-time records.

Have seen some touching tributes, although one person eulogising his "great friend" I know *for a fact* binned him off in the 80s for using "Nazi imagery".

The gig I went to included a castration film and I think some footage of camps. A lot of punk/post punk art does feature that kind of thing but rarely with any fascist intention. I think he was a provocateur with basically humane and kind intentions, from all I understand about him.

Created excellent music but seems to have been a truly awful person.

Seriously? Each to their own, I suppose.

Lacks an obvious hook, it must be said.

I super hearts this. Loved deejaying with it as you can lead that beat in from so many songs and it works.

Must admit that when I've played out, I've often been the only one dancing.
