That was actually a real Radio London jingle.

          See my post upthread

In my teens I was a massive Tuesday Weld fan. I think because she the epitome of classic American blonde girlhood, but there was always an edge to her. She had a really fucked up childhood. Supporting her mother as a child model from age four, an alcoholic at 10, and exploited and abused by Hollywood producers from then on. She missed out on a slew of big roles, Rosemary's Baby, Lolita, Bonnie & Clyde and others, either because she turned them down or was pushed aside. Still she's survived, more power to her. And Pretty Poison remains one of my all time favourite female performances.

The theme to 'Happy Days' by Pratt & McClain namechecks all seven days. Does any other song do this?

I Met Him on Sunday (The Shirelles, Laura Nyro et al) does:

Well I met him on a Sunday (oooooo)

& I missed him on Monday (oooooo)

Well I found him on a Tuesday (oooooo)

            & I dated him a Wednesday (oooooo)

Well I kissed him on a Thursday (oooooo)

& he didn't come Friday (oooooo)

When he showed up Saturday (oooooo)

            I said "Bye bye baby"

            ("Doo ronde ronde," etc.)

There was some (almost) forgettable tune by The Bluetones that listed the days of the week - Solomon Bites the Worm (says he, suddenly remembering it).

Radiohead were originally On A Friday, if that counts for the 'artist' list.

The Beatles' Lady Madonna misses by one (it avoids Saturday).

Well that song is truly wonderful, it's in my indie pop top 5, and I like their others too. A lyrical wit reminiscent of good-Morrissey but without the horribleness.

The Beta Band are another who guide us through the whole week - in Human Being off Hot Shots II :

She got me on a Monday
That's what I like to see
                            Got me on a Tuesday
That's what it's meant to be
                            Put me on a Wednesday
                            I would want to say
                            Married on a Thursday
                            Make another way
                            Swore me on Friday
                            She's gonna break your neck
                            Saturday comes around
She offed me on the deck
I thought I'd make it Sunday
But I didn't see it coming...
