No not some post punk combo from 1980 but actually a Bauhaus teacher and three of his students

I nearly fell off my chair last night when this came on during the half-time ads of the Germany-Netherlands U21 Euro semi-final. I wasn't really paying attention to the ad itself as I was too gobsmacked to hear an obscure indie-tune from my youth suddenly surfing the mainstream. The good thing is that, according this piece in Variety, the band still own the rights and will be getting paid. More than they earned during their entire recording career, I'd bet.

Identified as Berlin 1927 (problematic because Berlin didn't open until 1932, might they have been on holiday or a study visit?)
At least one of the students pictured survived

I vote yes
If the group photo was taken on campus, it was almost certainly Dessau, though an off campus visit to Berlin is also quite plausibleLast edited by ursus arctos; 04-06-2021, 22:59.

Soursob from Glasgow. Newly unearthed (??) record or something that had been out of print for ages.

Never knew until recently that Wire had appeared on the famous German live music show Rockpalast in 1979

Not sure where to put this, but here's Henry Rollins on typically talkative form talking about The Fall:

I don’t like looking at my formerly owned vinyl prices on ebay or discogs as collectively I think they’re worth more than my pension.

Brilliant interview with Will Sergeant by John Robb
Can't believe that about Casdon Soccer!

There was a scouse indie compilation with a sketched cover around then. White or cream cover with a pencil drawing on the front. I’m sure it also mentioned streets in the title. A vol2 possibly or even the original cover perhaps?

Yeah, that has a nice sound. They have certainly spent time immersed in early 80s new wave and post-punk.
I saw this band from Tampa, Florida at Lollapalooza a couple weeks back. They were on a smaller stage but I was surprised they were on the bill. I guess they don't know that Rober Smith had a band called The Glove.

Has a Siouxsie/Killing Joke vibe and fits well with another Chicago band called Negative Scanner that I posted earlier in the thread.
