Help sort this maddening earworm for me...

OMD. Love 'em. Always have, and have been listening to some of their old stuff lately.

So...listening to Junk Culture (both album and song) today, and there a melody embedded which I'm positive is not original. It's a slowed-down version of another song. Maybe even another OMD song, but I can't place it.

Give a listen. It's the bit between 1:36 and 2:10.

Cheers if you can help. It's driving me nuts.

I'm getting a variation on the mid-section of ELO's Mr Blue Sky, but I don't think it's that.

      From their website:

'Junk Culture was first aired live during the late 1983 tour. The rhythm track used is from the Emulator library and was also used by Vangelis for the soundtrack to the film Bladerunner.'

      Possibly that?

Yes, that did sound like Blade Runner

Cheers all. I've turned up the same Blade Runner thing, but it's not the same bit.

Here's a guy who plays the OMD/Blade Runner sound. Apparently it's just a stock bit of sound from an old emulator.

No, the bit I'm after is the 'vox humana' sound that gets looped twice. And it may not be anything I actually recognize, but which just sounds like some other '80s vox humana stuff, like the lovely First, Last, For Everything by Endgames.
