At the risk of incurring the 'sexist' card, I thought I'd lob in a female band among this hideous shower of ugly blokes. Not that this shows much evidence, but Clout made for pretty grim viewing back in the summer of '78:



I’ll try and find a better (worse) pic at some point – there really isn’t much on the net to support my claim.

Oh, and it was the late Gary Oldman (out of Auf Wiedersehen Pet) who was the singer of The Heavy Metal Kids.

Sacrilege. The blonde keyboardist, Glenda Hyams, was lovely and, in fact, very sexy indeed.

The drummer wasn't pretty, but not ugly. Quite cute actually.

One of the frightwig singers was actually quite nice looking

But, yeah, the other frightwig woman who sang the vocals on Substitute and the guitar woman with the long hair were not conventinal beauties.

Pretty decent band, to my recollection. Singer Jesse Hector (centre) apparently almost became a recluse because he didn't want other people ripping off his carefully-cultivated image...
