    I know what you mean. Some of Martin Gore's lyrics are akin to embarrassing sixth form poetry.

    I could never understand why Martin sang so many of DM's songs. His vocals come across as weedy and lacking depth to me, especially in comparison to Dave Gahan.

      This is true, but the weird thing is that when Gore is singing as backing vocals to Gahan, their voices match (harmonise?) curiously well. Good job, too - Dave Gahan's not exactly Pavarotti.
