My mum went to see Rod live a few times, within the last decade, and was very taken with him as a performer. Apparently he still puts a lot of energy into the shows and makes the audience feel like they're out to have a good time together.

It was quite hard to see him and not think of the Kenny Everett inflatable bottom spoof for about a decade after it was broadcast.

Does he still boot a football about on stage? Seem to recall that he was once sued by a fan in Michigan after hitting her with the ball and 'wrecking her sex life'.

(Unusual in that his encounters with women generally result in an increase in that department.)

He does still kick balls into the crowd apparently.

Modern ball technology means that the risk of injury is far lower than when he was hoofing heavy, laced panel balls that were sodden with mud and dubbin into the front rows though.

You can find dubbin in Michigan?

          There's a phrase I never thought I'd write.
