                                  I had a clue for this but Van der Graaf Generator (the band) is spelt differently from the piece of Physics lab equipment so it didn't work, even with 'we hear' or 'broadcast' in it.

                                          Your manoeuvre is exemplary, RC: Spoonerised 'still heart.' I was hesitant about using 'engine' as a synonym for 'heart', but I reckon it works in the figurative sense of a source of power.
