That's the second time in 24 hours that you've changed the answer to fit a clue. Harrumph

At our regular table in the Friday Cryptic Crossword saloon bar I turn to ad hoc and share his harrumph. Harrumph!

DG has been going off piste, prompting murmurings of discontent. To move thing along I cobbled together a reference to Duncans transgressions, along with a possible punishment "blocked" (the solution to his last clue) and an alternative.
My clues are about as elegant as a Tony Pulis team but will occasionally serve to move things along!

I meant the plastered bit of Dunc's

Plastered = drunk = blocked (rarely used but valid I guess and I'm assuming blocked was a reference to the shape / construction of a crossword seeing as we're on a crossword thread..... Over to DG for confirmation tho. Or are we questioning DG's latest contribution?)

blocked to mean drunk is a new one on me (among the vast range of terms for drunk)

Blocked = intoxicated. It's still commonly used if localised. Glaswegians would know it

If I understand AH's grumble, he was more concerned that I followed 'PLASTER' with 'PLASTERED'. Yellow card for persistent fouling accepted

Finishing with 'I Rap on the knuckles' is the modern fashion (7)

It was indeed. And merely hours after you'd clued with evocatively when the answer in question was evocative
