Laugh-In:
The series was broadcast on BBC2 from January 1969 to 1974. Some episodes from seasons 1, 2 and 3 were retransmitted during late 1983 and early 1984. Early broadcasts had to be shown with a black border, as technology was not available to render the 525-line NTSC video recording as a full-screen 625-line PAL picture. This issue was fixed for later broadcasts.
In the UK Gilligan's Island had a very brief run on ITV in April of 1965 but was dropped after 13 episodes.

- Those chocolate-coated ring-shaped ones you get at Christmas
The Gorbachev thread has naturally made me think of this one. I was wondering, rather than saying you can retain all of your choices from last year, shall we set a keeper deadline of, say, 20 December by which you need to nominate a maximum of three of your names that you want to keep.
Any that you don't put on the 2020 keeper list will be first come first served for 2020 selection from the 21st.
Just to clarify the event that someone dies in that period; if someone is in your 2019 squad and dies in 2019, you get the point even if another OTFer has picked them up for 2020. They will need to reselect.
Any thoughts on this roryfsmithesque proposal?

Serious answer: All five of those picks are potential "faked deaths". The rule should therefore be Occam's Razor: he is dead because he is generally accepted to be dead, and Occam's Razor rules out the conspiracy theory alternatives because they need too many assumptions.

Like GO, my first thought on hearing this news was to go through this thread. None of us had Alan Bennett, either. He might not make it to the Christmas Pudding.Last edited by Rogin the Armchair fan; 27-11-2019, 13:52.
