You'd think so but I've had Herman Wouk for the last two years and he's 103 and still going strong, he'll probably outlive me.

We appear to have been quite poor at this, this year, if it's taken 133 days for any of our 100-odd nominees to pop their clogs.

They might snuff it in batches, as often seems to happen.

Yes but you'd expect the Winter months to be more productive.

My stepdad had emphysema and it was a heatwave that finished him off,it's not necessarily true.

Now there's a rave from the grave (or a rave in the grave I guess.)

Now Lee Iacocca and Arte Johnson. It's mayhem.

I would have sworn Mr Mustang died several years ago.

Arte Johnson was a Laugh-In regular back in the 60s. Lee Iacocca was Ford Motors head of development in the same era, he introduced the notion of a "small" sporty saloon to the US market (the Ford Mustang). Later he worked for Chrysler and produced the 'K' car.

Was the Mustang the one which would spontaneously burst into flames?

As for Laugh In, you might as well reference Gilligan's Island, because we didn't get that either...

Oh yeah. It was huge in the UK in the mid-60s, unmissable in fact.

No (that might have been the Pinto(?)) The Mustang was, and remains, a classic.

                                              McCririck, not McCrirrick.
