Tidy piece of business by Whoft Fluffopolis before the new OTF season begins. The academy churned out 18/5 MF with headers and a big gob prospect Whymark Steggles (one for Kev there) to join last seasons receruit, now 18/6 MF Rufus Brevity who has the cube, long balls, eye for goal and leader qualities. So our 3rd 18yo MF, Fred Hulk (bulb, headers and cone) was deemed surplus to requirements and placed on the list with a value of 380,100 econs. No doubt the cone was an attraction, as we managed to get 1.8m econs for him earlier.

With these alongside 26/12 keeper Norbert Pelican, defenders Rab Fae Leith (31/14), Cyclops Cranachan (jdsx's favourite player) at 24/10, Belvedere Mintfresh (23/11) and Tristan da Cunha (22/9), midfielders Dutch maestro Snaarl van Dreijvermann (28/12) and Bruce Bettong-Quoll (one for Sits and 26/11) and forwards Jim Pickle (31/13) and Burt St Tropez (24/10), and with 9m econs now in the bank, it's a reasonable squad that is being assembled in Framley and one to make an assault on the giddy heights of OTF Div1.

Hope to see you in Div 1 the season after next Foxy (or if not, maybe in OTF itself the season after). I felt it was a shame you had to sell Dipan Krispanevan - he had a lot of potential...

Great squad names Foxy, and as a boyhood Ipswich fan I enjoyed Whymark as much as Bettong-Quoll.

And in more boring player name news, Berkshire Swine have welcomed Jan-Axel Gullbekk, son of legendary midfielder Kim-Preben. He joins striker Pepik Ruban, yet to repeat the illustrious feats of his dad Pavel.

Some big shocks in the Xpert Ladies Cup yesterday, including us beating the number 28 seeds on aggregate. I gave a win bonus of 1 million econs thinking that 2 extra cup games should be better for development values than that spent on training.

I've posted on the transfer site this after I'd evaluated her. Why lie when it's so easy to spot?

It was time for Viking South Utsira to take arms against their sea of troubles when they went seeking a first win of the campaign against Ipswich Ladies.
A draw and a defeat to open had left Velvet Android’s side in danger of sinking further into a deeper rut that would be increasingly hard to get out from. What The Blood Eagles needed was a good start, such as Kristin Hovland firing them ahead on 13 minutes, to give a random example.
Asta Austrheim doubled the advantage a couple of minutes before the interval, which allowed Viking to essentially close up shop. Britta Klovning did add a third late in the second half, but it was already ‘job done’ by then.
The win lifts VSU up to fourth in the Division 2b table.

What would give when Drakaina hosted Rum Old Girls in a top-of-the-table clash with both teams boasting 100% records?
In the event, nothing. No goals were scored, and very few chances were created. The Dragons managed nothing at all as Etienne’s side found themselves stymied at every turn. Rum Old Girls did get a couple of shots off, but Anastasia Shkolnikova was equal to them as she turned in a career-best grade 20 performance.
The stalemate did not cost either side ground in the Division 3d standings, as all but one of the other matches also finished all-square and the one that didn’t was between two previously winless teams. Drakaina remain second in the table on goal difference.

Kanjeng Ratu Kidul WFC went to Bolton Ladies College with a win and a defeat to their names and looking to add to that.
The early bird catches the worm as many teachers say (particularly public school types), and The Sea Goddesses appeared to have taken that advice to heart when Leila Azeite gave them the lead with a direct free-kick in the first minute. Seanoftheshed’s side failed to build on that beginning though, crating just one more chance in the game.
They may have been undermined by the 10th minute injury to Utami Sangaji, who will be out for 13 days, but overall it was a bit of a disappointment when the hosts got the equaliser they had threatened for a while midway through the second half.
Overall grade B-, OK but can look to do better.
Elsewhere in the same section Sockford Emollient were facing The Black Widows at John Spencer Street.
The visitors looked the better team in the first half, with 60% possession and three of the four chances. There was little surprise then when they took the lead on 51 minutes. At that point it looked like a drift to defeat for The Gatorsharks, but it turned out that Foxy265’s side were not willing to settle for that. Captain Monica Parks gather her troops, shook them up and led by example as she put in a grade 17 showing. That inspired her teammates, Donya Antonellini picking out Wafaa Abdul-Muttalib to equalise on 68 minutes and Parks capping her man-of-the-match display by swinging over the 87th minute corner from which Antonellini headed the winner.
The smash-and-grab sent Sockford shooting up the Division 4k table to occupy second spot (The Black Widows fell to bottom), whilst Kanjeng Ratu Kidul sit two points behind the Framleyshire outfit in third.

Unbeaten Erbil went to 100% record-holding SLB Femenino for their third league game of the season.
Things didn’t start well for Jdsx’s side, as SLB went ahead in the 10th minute. That was a significant blow, given that the Cape Verdeans* hadn’t conceded a goal all season. Erbil didn’t look like altering that stat in the first half as they didn’t create a chance. They came closer after the break, but SLB’s strong defence and keeper dealt with all three chances created as the match finished 1-0.
Defeat left Erbil fourth in the Division 5:17 standings, five points adrift of the top two but also three clear of the bottom three.
                  * - SLB’s manager is from Cambridgeshire, but with something of a West African slant to his teams. His Men’s official league side are called Mali.

After two straight defeats the pressure was on LNWR Locomotive to get out of the sidings and beat Los Angeles Sol.
The good news though is pressure is what The Steamers thrive on. They put together a solid first half performance which was capped on 42 minutes by Tekla Severinsson heading in the opening goal.
Viktor Boskovic’s side kept their level up after the break, taking a nasty injury to Saidy Geovanni in their stride (15 days) to close out the 1-0 win. That wasn’t quite enough to lift them from seventh place in the Division 5:18 table, but at least the situation looks healthier as they are now just a point shy of fifth (and indeed third) place.

Coxy Ladies Wulpen were at their politest best when they travelled to the sweariest side in Division 5:19, The Effing Blinders.
The Waders were content to let their football do the talking, putting in their most comprehensive performance in the league so far this season. Janik’s side had already had a number of chances come and go when Eva van Sttenberghe headed them ahead on 39 minutes. The same player repeated the trick about the same time after the interval, getting to Charlotte Beyen to make it two on 53 minutes.
Laetitia Vandenbergh thought she had added a third soon after that, only for ref Irre Levant to disallow it. That looked like it might keep Vandenbergh from the scoresheet until deep into stoppage time when she rose to register Coxy Ladies’ third header of the day.
Victory kept The Waders on the heels of the 5:19 leaders. They sit third on seven points, whilst the leading two are still perfect.

It had been a slow start to the season for Zeugma Dostluk Spor as they prepared to face Paradise Café at Insan Haklari Stadyumu.
It’s not that Antepli Ejderha’s side have been overwhelmed since promotion, just that they have struggled to sneak close games with a draw and a narrow defeat previously. This was another cut from the same cloth as chances were at a premium at both ends. One goal would have done it, but it wasn’t to be for the Turks, or for their visitors either for that matter.
The stalemate left Zeugma on two points, and sitting in seventh place in the Division 5:27 table. They are two points below the cut line currently.

Game three saw Menywod Maeshafn taking on the Moe Szyslak Experience, which sounds like a rather depressing thing to do.
Rather than consider the situation they were in, Maeshafn focused instead on their own performance. And it was a good one, IsThatcherDeadYet’s side being two to the good by the midpoint of the first half after Morgan Beck and Ada Westerberg struck.
Westerberg’s goal was a direct free-kick and on 50 minutes she got another chance from a set-piece, this time from 12 yards as the visitors gave away a penalty. That made it 3-0 and the game safe. Maeshafn didn’t stop creating chances after this, but were unable to add any more goals. Not that they were needed at all, of course.
The win kept Maeshafn fourth in the Division 5:29 table. They are a point off the play-off place at the moment.

Matchday 3 paired Csiki Girls with a team and a ground so offensively named that I’m impressed ad hoc could bring himself to select a side for it. I’m not even going to bother giving them a censored name as the dickhead in charge of them doesn’t even deserve that recognition.
The only thing to do in situations like this is absolutely thrash the f*cker, and I’m pleased to say that is exactly what Csiki Girls did.
They were one ahead on 6 minutes, Saoirse McInns racing clear to finish and two to the good by the interval when young forward Norma Ackland fired home. After a lull Elly Granheim broke clear to make it three, which saw swiftly followed by a second of the day from McInns to give the final scoreline a pleasingly comprehensive look.
And also the Division 5:32 table, as the four goal margin was enough for Csiki Girls goal difference to overtake that of Lady Chatterley F. C. and put them top of the standings. These two sides are the last remaining 100%ers in this section.

Ullapool Northern Star took on a familiar name in Women’s Football as they went up against Arsenal LFC.
As if to show reputations count for nothing, it was Northern Star who dominated this match. Delicatemoth’s side were ahead within 120 seconds, Alonza Benfari getting her head to a cross to net her first for the club in her second season in Scotland. Local girls Mary-Leslie Mair doubled the lead on 21 minutes and got her second of the afternoon just before half-time to pretty well confirm victory.
Arsenal’s long trip home became even more sullen late on when Maricica Pantici lost her rag and earned herself a straight red card. As for Ullapool, the win lifts them to fourth in the Division 6:39 table, three points off the pace of the top two.

Are Solent Sirens ready for a promotion push this season? The signs looked promising ahead of their game with Trance Girls.
The Sirens started on the front foot and basically never relented as they overran their (admittedly zombified) opposition. Geovana Abbiati opened the scoring on 17 minutes with a long range shot, and would go on to complete a hattrick with one from closer in after 55 minutes and a breakaway after 71. She also set up Jin-Ae Hyeong to blast in from range on the stroke of half-time.
About the only blot on the day for Andrew7610’s side was Trance Girls scored a consolation with their only shot of the match. Solent ‘keeper Estelle Winterburn was far from a happy bunny at full-time, storming away from Mayfield Park yelling “They just don’t care!!” about her defenders.
She is wrong, of course, they definitely do as they are part of a team that sits third in Division 6:42, two points behind the leading pair.

And finally Dublin City WFC, who welcomed back boss Mortal Joe for their game against Real Persian CF.
Playing with direction lead to a much better performance from the hosts, who created the chances to win the game. However, the finishing was a bit rusty as all four openings went to waste and Dublin had to settle for a 0-0 draw.
That did at least lift the Dubs off the bottom of Division 6:56 and up to sixth. There is no 100% side in this league, so they are only six points back of the top two as things stand.

Assuming I've accurately translated it from the league page, is this of interest? Hot Orange and Southdown Rebel are the closest to completing a career sweep of all the divisions. And it's made me doubly annoyed I forgot to set my tactics for the final Division 3 match last season!

I particularly like the way you're the only manager to have won the top division and the bottom one, and somehow didn't win either of the ones in between!

Are Cota and Victor the same manager?

So there are Divisions 2 and 3? Well I never.

Yes, Viktor to be precise (pedantic).

The Round 2 draw was relatively benign for Erbil as it paired them with Division 6 side 666 FC.
The first leg was away from home for Jdsx’s team, who were on the lookout for an away goal. It arrived after only 12 minutes play, Caroline Hinton bursting clear to slide home. The rest of the match was basically stuck in midfield, with both teams having just one more chance, neither of which were converted.
Erbil were well in control of the tie despite the relative quiet nature of the opening leg, but could do with a further goal in the return to make their position more secure. That arrived on 45 minutes, Hinton again the scorer. That allowed Jdsx to start making some subs, which backfired a little when young forward Cattie Isaac went down with a 16-day injury soon after the third change. However, any worries that being down to 10 through injury would see the match turn around were ended by Hinton netting her third of the tie on 86 minutes.
Erbil’s reward is two matches against Division 4p side Lagermax, the second leg being at the Erbil Arena.

Kanjeng Ratu Kidul WFC were also facing bottom tier opponents in the form of AG FC Ladies.
Their first leg was equally as hard fought as Erbil’s, but with the key difference that The Sea Goddesses didn’t convert either of their two chances. Neither did hosts AG FC as the tie return to Indonesia very delicately poised.
The Merapi-Kraton-South Sea crowd’s hopes for more incident in the return were rewarded when Leila Azeite put The Sea Spirits ahead with a direct free-kick midway through the first half. That proved a springboard for Seanoftheshed’s side to dominate proceedings, but with one little problem – the aggregate score was still only 1-0 going into the last five minutes of the second leg, meaning an AG goal against the run of play would have resulted in elimination on away goals.
That was obviously too risky, so The Sea Goddesses continued to go after a second and finally got it on 87 minutes when Cindy Prins raced away and slotted home. The shackles finally off, Diksha Dalmiya swiftly added a third to give a final score a more accurate look.
Next up for Kanjeng is a side from their own tier, Fat Lady of Division 4h. The first leg is on the road.

Coxy Ladies Wulpen were the higher seeds but from a tier lower up the pyramid when they took on Kingpin Girls.
The Waders got off to a superb start, Laetitia Vandenbergh putting them ahead after just 4 minutes. That set the tone for an excellent first half from the Flemings, one which had further reward midway through when Jessica Kabasele added a second.
Being two up away from home prompted Janik’s side to draw back into themselves. This worked well as the second-half past scorelessly, the dismissal of Wulpen’s Aurelie Wostijn happening too late (stoppage time) to have any effect on the outcome.
The second leg started in much the same way the first had, with a Wulpen goal, Charlotte Beyen the scorer on this occasion. Kingpin had chances to score an away goal or two, but couldn’t convert their openings. The Waders were a bit more efficient, Zoe Leroy firing home a direct free-kick midway through the second half to complete the job.
The round 3 was not been kind to Coxy Ladies though, pairing them up with Division 1b outfit Las Mimosas Charrúas. The opening leg will be stages at The Curlew’s Nest.

The first tie with an OTF side at home was an all-sixth tier encounter between LNWR Locomotive and Lion Ladies.
The Steamers had the better of the opening leg at Mollington Street, but in keeping with the first matches in this report so far there was little goalmouth action to recount. Just three first half chances were created, all to Viktor Boskovic’s side, all wasted. Lion Ladies did have the ball in the Locomotive net late in the second half, but fortunately it was disallowed which meant The Steamers go to leg two all-square, which was the least they deserved.
Is a nil-nil home draw in the first leg a good or bad thing? It means no lead, but also that any score draw in leg two equals progress on away goals. And that anyway away goal scored feels significant. Two minutes in The Steamers through they had precisely that, only for Gayane Zakarian strike to be disallowed. The rest of the goalmouth action in the first period was down the other end, Lion edging ahead with just about the last kick of the 45.
That meant Locomotive had to score to keep themselves in the competition. Boskovic’s girls tried mightily, but their efforts only translated to two shots, and no goals as their journey ended earlier than hoped.

Another all Division 5 match-up pitted Csiki Girls against Propaganda.
Ad hoc’s side were away in the opening leg, the first half of which was very evenly matched. The Csiki’s had 49% possession and two chances created to two given up. There was one fortunate moment for the visitors when Propaganda had a goal disallowed (rightly so, whatever they might claim), and one rather less so when Robin Neaves had to be helped from the field with what proved an 11-day injury.
Things changed rather after half-time, however. And not in a positive way for Csiki Girls, who found themselves increasingly overrun. Their defence was breached twice on 55 and 74 minutes. A goal back away would have helped, but the chances of that disappeared late on when Mirja Hinz was shown her second yellow card of the day. There is a lot to do when the tie goes back to Transylvania...
It was a fine balancing act for the boss ahead of the second leg as his side had to win by at least two goals, but needed to do so without conceding a killer away goal. For 45 minutes the hosts got it spot on, Georgia Birch heading them ahead on 8 minutes and keep things shut up at the back.
That all changed just two minutes into the second period when Propoganda scored a direct free-kick. Csiki’s heads dropped and they nearly shipped another two minutes later, only to be saved by Seymour Red’s whistle. The writing was already on the wall though as Csiki Girls Cup run ended for another season.

One of those turnabout ties faced Sockford Emollient as they hosted the opening leg against Albion despite being one tier above their foes.
Hildegard Olesen gave The Gatorsharks the lead in the 16th minute at John Spencer Street, powering home a header from Alexia Batistuta’s cross. That was the only goal, and indeed chance of the first half, but after the break Sockford came out firing. Had manager Foxy265 asked them to show the seeding committee how wrong they were? Whatever had prompted it, The Gatorsharks were in an attacking frenzy. Chance after chance came. And also went, up until Monica Parks rose deep into stoppage time to head home the second the home side had completely merited.
The Gatorsharks position in the tie looked good; they just needed to avoid going two goals behind. So, OK, 1-0 to Albion on was alright. Imperfect, sure, but still alright. 2-0 on the stroke of half-time was rather more serious, though.
That meant a change in priorities in the second-half, with an away goal now highly prized. It came via a lucky break as a minor injury saw Lotta Ericson introduced, and she swung over the cross that Kayley Mullins headed home eight minutes later. That wasn’t the end of the drama though, Albion scoring again on 69 minutes to put them back within one of taking the tie. That made for a very fraught last 20 minutes, but The Gatorsharks survived to take their place in Round 3 on away goals.
Their opposition for that will be Triestina of Division 3g. The first leg will be at John Spencer Street.

Solent Sirens were trying to punch up three levels when they took on Division 3 outfit Misty Girls.
Things looked very promising during an even first half as Andrew7610’s side were not in the least overawed by their opponents higher status. Yes, there wasn’t an actual chance for The Sirens, but Misty Girls just had one, didn’t score it and the possession stats were as close to even as makes no odds (49-51%).
The second half didn’t start well for Solent though, Misty Girls going ahead on 50 minutes. Would The Sirens collapse? Hell no, they continued battling and even had a couple of chances to equalise. Misty Girls also had their openings, but it seemed justice when referee Irre Levant disallowed a potential second for the visitors late on.
That meant the tie was very much alive ahead of leg two, and Solent were once again up for the fight. Obviously they had to score, and they had the ball in the net after 36 minutes but Jin-Ae Hyeong’s strike was dubiously disallowed.
Misty Girls hadn’t had a chance in the first 45 period but they came on strong after the break and went ahead with 62 on the clock. This all proved too much for Evelyn Högardh who saw her second yellow of the match after 84 minutes. Early baths seem to be an overly regular feature of Högardh’s career...
With the dismissal The Sirens last vague chances of keeping alive in the Cup for this season were extinguished.

A nightmare of a draw for Viking South Utsira led to an extraordinarily high level match for Round 2 as The Blood Eagles were paired with top flight outfit JJ Ladies.
The fault for that must lie with JJ, as what is a Xpert Ladies side doing with a seeding of 256?? But Div.2 vs Xpert Ladies it was, a match worthy of the final itself to gracing instead the Ragnar Rock pitch. There was nothing to chose between the sides essentially, Viking shading possession and both teams creating a pair of shooting opportunities across the 90 minutes. However, potentially vitally for the tie, one of these fell to Nina Austrheim on 45 minutes and she hammered home the only goal of the opening leg.
That strike was levelled up just 7 minutes into the return game as JJ converted a rare chance. In fact there was barely another opening in the whole 90 minutes following that early strike, which was a shame for The Blood Eagles as an away goal would have been a massive blow for them. They were still seeking it for the win in extra-time, but with more even more urgency after JJ went ahead seconds into the extra 30 minutes. It wasn’t to be though, VSU managing just one shot in the 120 minutes as their cup run ended early for a second straight campaign.

Drakaina were clear and strong favourites against Xtc, what with playing three tiers above the Division 6 outfit.
They wasted no time in demonstrating why at the xtc Arena, Laria Sietaridis firing The Dragons ahead in just the 7th minute. Etienne’s side controlled the game after that, adding a second when Sandrine Petit headed home in the last minute of the opening half and denying Xtc even a sniff of goal, let alone a clear cut chance. 2-0 it finished to send the sides to Delphi with The Dragons having one foot in Round 3.
All they needed was to concentrate and it was done. An extra goal was helpful of course, but not essential. Petit may have appreciated that, but she wasn’t about to let the 1st minute chance that fell her way go by unburied. Xtc never gave up and created a decent number of chances in the game. They even scored, but given it came in the last 20 minutes it never felt much more than a consolation strike.
The Dragons challenge in Round 3 will be overcoming Division 5:24 side League of Legends Girls. The second leg will take place at Delphi.

Our last tie of this round pitted Zeugma Dostluk Spor against an opponent from two tiers higher in the form of Division 3 side Janes Addiction.
Any kind of result for Antepli Ejderha ‘s girls was going to constitute a shock, and for 75 or more minutes they clung gamely but slightly grimly to a goalless draw, with a shade over 40% possession and just one chance of their own created. Yes, Janes’ had only had a few chances of their own, but the pattern seemed set; the lower team holds on, but is eventually worn down.
And we did indeed get an opening goal on 78 minutes. Except, it went to Zeugma, Asabe Fetele whipping a cross on to the head of Tova Hammarbro, who couldn’t miss. That sent the Insan Haklari Stadyumu crowd into raptures, and they were still celebrating at the final whistle as their team comfortably closed out the 1-0 opening leg win.
Go for an away goal or play for a 0-0? What would AE do? Do I really need to ask? The Anatolians set themselves up to frustrate and energetically protect their one goal lead. Players were throwing themselves in front of things, chipping the ball away from forwards and generally stopping Janes’ getting any sort of rhythm. Defender Peg Haywood epitomised this, turning in a career-best grade 19 performance.
With play like that is it any wonder that the Division 3 outfit couldn’t find a way through, and in fact didn’t even manage a shot. The Zeugma fans were never exactly comfortable, but their team knew what it was doing and a notably shock was pulled off.
Zeugma’s reward is a tie against Gehenna Hot Pants of Division 4h. The second leg will be at the Insan Haklari Stadyumu.

Chapeau to you sir, a mighty fine round up which is now pinned on the changing room wall for inspiration. It also means I no longer need to bother with team talks.

Does anyone know, if the board says 'there are no reasons to sack the player,' is there any way to get rid of him? I doubt anyone would buy him.

I think they say that if you don't have enough players to allow you to sack him. If your squad gets larger you might be able to.

My VIP quandary has grown. Zalec play our last game of the regular season tomorrow. If we win, we make the playoffs, any other result and we probably won't. Since yesterday morning I've been locked out of the team and haven't set tactics. Decisions decisions.

For once, an everyday event that actually matches the player it mentions (rather than endless 'goal of the month' awards for players who've never scored).
Erling Ramberg is very much that sort of player.
