We've continued down the road in direction 1, realized we've gone a little too far and turned back:

The building in picture 2 could be some kind of hotel (it's big and has flags outside). That aside, I've got nothing

Potential chimney in the background of the first photo, and an interesting roofline in the second. Possibly another big chimney behind the building, which would thus be nowhere near the other one.

The windbreak trees are reminiscent of northern France.

    Nice work, ad hoc.
They even have a nearby "Big..." of their own, in a further similarity with the antipodean love for random big things:

Ah well, must take more care. But I’ve wanted to get Sydney out there.

Yes, once I got Canada I googled 75 Prince St. and Canada (that address is visible in the window in the 4th picture) and this was the first hit. I'd already noted a sign saying Centre of ...Breton in the 3rd picture and the link said New Breton NS, so I knew it must be the one

It's in Sydney! (albeit in Sydney, Nova Scotia)

My first thought was the US, but I think the pedestrian crossing sign is Canada. Somewhere with a reasonably sized Indian population

OK go on then. Not two, not three, but four shots from the same crossroads. They’re quite busy scenes and I’ve probably missed a few clues but it keeps things moving.

Well done Staph. I wondered about Hillsborough but couldn't find a likely looking spot.

I'm at work so could not put one up either.

My first thought was under a shopping center, but a stadium seems more likely.

I don't think so, but I do think that is a CCTV camera on the pole

The first view with the kegs would most likely be a stadium here, but I think that there are more possibilities in the UK
