Yet another here in the BUTCH HUTCH club. A great guess at __TCH on turn 2, and mercifully I decided DUTCH couldn't possibly be a solution, but still had to stare for a minute after turn 3 to work out what on earth else was left:

                        O R A T E
                        P I T C H
                        B U T C H
                        H U T C H

I do love how DUTCH HUTCH for AB equates to INXS in Amsterdam.

BUTCH was the word that caused an outcry when there were two Wordle solutions on the same day (the other was GECKO, IIRC).

Not that it stopped me from using it as my second guess today, as there have been a few words of that sort of flavour recently:

                          Y O U T H
                          B U T C H
                          H U T C H

A 3. Bit of an American word, I think.

                                You don't say.

Though I went to look up the definition and it said 'piebald' which I've also never heard, so I checked the French translation and I've also never heard that French word used to mean that. So clearly not my area of expertise regardless of the language

I've just looked up what "Oints" means and I still don't think I've got my head around it.

Applies ointment innit. It was never going to be the answer what with Wordle not liking conjugated verbs

I wonder if anyone has ever used that word IRL outside of a medical textbook?

I managed in 3 too, though the time between my second guess and my 3rd was ludicrously long. Nice beans though. Possibly my second favourite after black eyed peas, and similarly impossible to find in Romania. Third favourite if chick peas are a bean

Well, chickpeas seem to be a sub-sect of the big legume family.

After a great second shot I thought I'd holed the birdie putt. Literally the only time I've ever heard 'Pinto' is the name of the Fiat car.
