I wonder whether a good benchmark of scoring is to treat a run of 18 games as if playing a par 72 round of golf.
I didn't think of this until I'd gone beyond 18 games, so I'll look out for my 36-game score. If I don't solve a Wordle in six turns, I'll score it as seven if I have four correctly-placed letters by my final turn, eight for three correctly-placed and so on.

I prefer to see it as an endurance Squid Game, where everyone who fails to guess the word in six tries gets shot. The rest gets another word, until only one contestant remains.
Mine's recorded as a four but is actually a five, which is annoying as I will have to remember to correct my stats each time I see them. I had two guesses on one device and then later picked up a different one. I couldn't remember my first guess, so started from the second one and added one to the score.
Actually I suppose if you don't get it in six you could use another browser, or a private/incognito tab, or a VPN, to carry on from where you got to after six if you wanted to carry on your golfing score.
