Farnum's win was in a race that the forum 'betting game' actually tracked, of which the vast majority of participants bet on Farnum to win. One exception being... uh... me. Who had to be contrary and felt a little 'off' betting on an IoM/OTF team leader. The rider I bet on finished 2nd, so moral victory and all.

National's team next race looks impossible to predict at the moment. Going to come down to team-mates and form I expect.

as for Rhett Hinds, that's one of those irritating combination of "Good" attributes that looks impossible to use. DH and CB just don't really go together at all.

End of season sneaks up on us soon. It's a bit of a wash for me as my team is in crummy form and bouncing back and forth between the bottom of 3 and the top of 4 without me doing anything.

I'm never clear if you need to "re-up" your national team management, but better safe than sorry delicatemoth .

“Crummy” and “bouncing between division 3 and 4” sort of don’t go together, from where I’m looking!

Hunzberger bagged a third place yesterday and earned an extra CL point. He’s now a 77/77/61 climber. Shame nobody appears to be running a Luxembourg team.

          Nice!

well, I'd be more excited about the bouncing if I was actually doing anything, but I'm not, just other teams going up/down around me. I 'should' drop down to 4th (or lower) to start the next season. Hard to plan ahead though without knowing for sure.

And looks delicatemoth has IoM national team as good to go! No concerns there, which is nice.

Yes, it turns out you have to reapply if you've been missing race entries, but we've been good. 26th was our best finish in this week's race, so we'll remain in the middle division to start next season.

I'm perfectly happy to carry on through the seasons but if anyone else from the Manx contingent would actively like to have a shot at managing the national team then stick your hand up three quarters of the way through next season and I'll send the army round make arrangements for a smooth transfer of power.

              How/where do I find a rider’s ID?

              Comment

You have to go to the full rider page and it's the number in the address for that page.

Thanks Matt. But if I go to Hunzberger’s profile this is the URL I get: http://www.cyclingsimulator.com/team...eld_Locknuts#1

Much more excitingly when I clicked his profile I saw he’s now resplendent in the Luxembourg jersey. Even if they don’t have a team AFAIK.

I’ve bought back a rider I released a few weeks ago.

Edit: that goes against my previous post about being skint, but I’ll be releasing one or two riders once they complete imminent races.

Good start to this rainy Sunday - we won a race. A big proper grown up race and all, not the u23 stuff where we usually find our wins. I've managed to get Namgung into top form without noticing or planning so he's now being entered into anything that moves and looks vaguely suitable, and he managed to win one of those 3-3-3-3 type races which I've long felt might be promising terrain for him. The whole team did well today. Everything turned out as we hoped, and luckily, Byung-kwang Namgung was the strongest rider out there today.

He’s a really interesting rider, you’ve managed to get a lot,of development into him.

Frustrating start to the season for Fox River in Division 4. Kavanagh only managed a 6th in a race I though should have been a win, and then only managed a 10th in a race we should have been top 5 easy.

Albrecht just manages top 50 finishes but lets me sign-up for basically alternating Climbing/Sprint races at the moment.

And my big influx of money a few weeks ago means that I've been a full pauper for some time now, just waiting for sponsor contracts to roll over.

So what's the best kind of mechanic to prevent crashes, and doctor to prevent injuries? Or is it better just to put up with it and not spend that money at D6 level?

                                          Comment

I don't think it's a bad idea to get a mechanic and doctor if you feel like you have a team that can get victories at Div 6. I got a Recovery doctor first, as I wanted to make sure my riders could get more races in. No idea if this was the best option, Health might have made slightly more sense.

I also have a Service mechanic, which seemed to make sense as the first choice there.

I got a Recovery doctor first, as I wanted to make sure my riders could get more races in. No idea if this was the best option, Health might have made slightly more sense.

I also have a Service mechanic, which seemed to make sense as the first choice there.

Thanks Matt. I thought I’d analysed those but clearly not very well. I think in tight financial times I may start with a SA mechanic. “Crashing or getting injuries” sums up the most common frustrations I’ve experienced in races. I’m also making sure I don’t race riders with low DP.

I'm back in div 6 again. Which isn't the cause for celebration it initially was.

I’m almost hoping for a drop to D7, to have another crack at the Tour of the Sanreizan (sp.).

Starts a fortnight tomorrow, so you'll need to lose a lot of points in the next few days. Planning to race it again myself, really enjoyed it last season even if it didn't yield a huge return.

Climbed into D6 the other week for literally a minute, then over several days I had a huge heap of points come off and I started threatening relegation to D8, now we've had a couple of decent races this weekend (including a second in Barcelona yesterday when the break stuck) so now I'm back in the familiar surrounds of upper-mid D7.
