Hmmm... really strong time trial results for Fox River this morning (div 7), which give me hopes I haven't wasted money training there (6th, 11th, 18th, 22nd !)
I think the next IoM race should be Sapporo - Mount Asahi (?) (assuming we are in WT-C still, which I think we are). This is the race Carder finished 2nd in 2 seasons ago. Definitely one the IoM riders should be in the running for.

Getting into the talking myself phase a bit here, but I spent the 'exact' amount needed to bring in a potential GD DH/SP/FR as a a teammate, and just moments later the 35-year old I'd brought on to be the third option trainer suddenly gets the 'ready to retire' button. Whew.
Race today had another 'off day' for Kavanagh, so only went 8th and 9th (Crumley) in a race we probably should have won. Now we have five races on the horizon - ITT, Street race, ITT, Tech Sprint, Street Race. I'll be more than a little annoyed if we can't push ourselves out of Division 6 by the end of that run.

Hunzberger scratched out an 8th and $2k yesterday but it’s hard graft in D5. I think we’re riding on a chunk of D7 points from last season.
And I need $37k for Bang’s next (final?) pair of training sessions, from 74-84(?). Once they get above 49 I’m only leaving them at 54, 64, 74 after being bitten by the racing points “problem“. So I’m not risking leaving him at 79. I suppose I could go 78 on my limited cash.Last edited by Sits; 27-11-2020, 21:28.

Hmmm....so Hunzberger is a 215 climber now right? at age 27, and the top climbers (all time) are at 241 and up.... feels like some good results are still available at division 5.
Might start looking at where the gaps are in team-mates (Flat Road specialist needed as TM?) and maybe being a bit more selective on races (Ismailli Climbs - sign-up day 24 seems a target. Won by Abner Carder last time out - only 212 Climber). He's got a long career ahead of him. Besides teammates, an investment in some simple gear too?
The winner of Nevada Mountains (for instance) was only 217 climber but aged 37 with more experience, and had a better CL (and some FR) in a race that was more his niche.
I think Div 5 seems a possible 'staying level' for most of us now (once/if I get back up there).
and yes the 'nines' is a no-go for me.Last edited by matt j; 28-11-2020, 23:20.

In terms of FR, Jervis and Hooiveld each have some, if not enough perhaps. Hooiveld I trained with a view to some sort of captain/tour role but I think he’s actually quite limited.
I feel once Bang and Obregon are trained up, I will have twelve as maxed as they’re going to be. Neither has any FR potential so in time I’ll look out for that and maybe even a dash of CB.
I can’t really complain about the way Hunzberger maxed, but some FR, SP and more TQ would have been perfect. Once I have some trainers that’s where I would be looking.
Equipment - to date I’ve never had enough cash to even think about it. Again, it’s only once Bang and Obregon are done and dusted, I can stand back and maybe start to gather a few dollars.

OK they’re all in the Scraper now. Am I imagining it or is there some means of identifying races which are particularly good for particular riders? I think I am.Create a new spreadsheet and edit with others at the same time – from your computer, phone or tablet. Get stuff done with or without an internet connection. So... I'm a nerd. There is a tool that I helped review/qc that is called 'season planner' that can give a rough breakdown of suggested races. I still like that version, but.... it's tough to deal with potentially shifting divisions and looking for 'one-off' races that suit other riders besides the leader. It is fantastically great for tracking and triggering top form though, if you want 'just' the captain to be focused on.. Recommended to everyone if you want to try to do that.
I'll share my version of that scraper spreadsheet, which has some additional things I put together to mess with. It does take some copy/pasting and manipulating when you sign a new player (as the order of players change), but it all works along the same lines as the original shared there as the "scraper".
However, I have a sheet that lets you see an entire calendar for a division laid out for your entire team, so you can spot races for not just your leaders, but those one-offs that you want to send others into. This won't necessarily pick up U23 races or the special 'cross-division' races.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing
Most of it might be self-explanatory? Check out how my team looks in there and then just start replacing ids (ENTER ID HERE). I keep my team in the order of the basic home team page, that way I can copy/paste out of there so that DP and RS show up.
Training sheets takes some copy/pasting of potentials.
Races - this is where I track who is in which race so I can plot out breaks for training, jobs, or just rest.
There is also my 100% totally always reliable race predictor pages there. They take a little more attention, but work along the same lines (copying from cycling simulator into the sheet - spreadsheet magic, an output page). If you mess with that, you need to update the race characteristics.

Those three stats are but he has a bit more room in other things so I'm going to try to get his HL and SP to 40 each. My initial aim with Perkis was to have him as a leadout man with occasional TTs but I think he won't be in the train much and I'll be saving his energy for time trials.
I went the wrong way when I started and purchased kit rather than training. It made the beginning a bit tricky but surely a permanent bonus to all your riders is more valuable than a career long bonus to a single rider?
delicatemoth are we going to be able to get in for Tuesday's WT race?

Blech. Looks like Tolers is going to be riding a lot of TT as 'risky'. Maxed early. Had the possibility of being 50+ AV, maxed at 41. not even enough to drag his FR above 50. Boo. He had been my first target for investment on my transfer windfall, but now....
On to cobbler Marvin Grau!

Stole a result for Crumley in a Div 6 race today (2nd). a "Good legs" day. We moved up to 5th Division which means a readjustment of future race plans.
My transfer listing should have ended today, but a last second bid has extended it. Currently sitting at 220k.
I feel a bit like I'm now looking for the next big 'trainable talent'. My current squad is solid, a few still need topping off on their potentials, and some may still max high AV, but it would nice to find a real long-term sprinter investment again somewhere.
