Final scores:
ad hoc 13 256
irony towers 7 242
Sean of the Shed 9 240
Merseybeast 10 236
Logan Mountstuart 8+3 235
longeared 6 229
Sporting 7 224
Sits 3+3 211
CY_Boaby 7 210
Jah Womble 10 207
pebblethefish 6 203
Duncan Gardner 5 202
nmrfox 6 196
Guy Profumo 9 190
So in the end it was an easy final day as ad hoc coasted to the title with the day's highest score of 13 to win this season's competition by 14 points from last season's champion irony towers in second, with myself two points further back in third. Merseybeast just held on to fourth spot by a point from Logan Mountstuart, who, along with Sits, picked up the three point bonus for being one away from the total of 31 goals scored today.
Hearty congratulations to ad hoc on his first title. Hopefully I'll see you all in the Euro 21 prediction competition and then we will do it all again for the 21/22 season.

Well done Andy. A worthy winner, and you've helped prove that IT is actually beatable.
And thanks again, Sean. Let's try and get some newcomers next year to really justify your efforts.

What with the Euros sandwiched tightly between the end of last season and the beginning of this one, it feels like there is no rest from the bloody football, and a good thing too for all of us prediction competition aficionados.
The English Football League restarts this coming weekend, and so do we.
For those who are new to the game (and newcomers are indeed very welcome), and those who need to be reminded every year, here are the rules:
Each round will be 10 games, hopefully all played on the same day, so all Saturday games, and if we do a midweek one then they will all likely be on the same night. Though it will be based mainly on the Premier League, there may also be lower league games, cup games, international games, European competition etc.
I'll post the games no later than 48 hours before the first kick-off, so Saturday games will be no later than midday Thursday, and midweek games will be no later than 7pm two days before, but if I can, I'll post them as early as possible.
Any posts made after the kick-off time, or edited after the kick-off time will be null and void for the relevant game(s). Watch out for early Saturday games kicking off at midday.
Predict the score of all games. Correct score is 3 points, correct result is 1 point. No minus points, no safe games, no bankers. There will usually be a bonus such as first scorer for a game, first yellow, or something like.

Here are the games for Saturday 7th August:
Cardiff City v Barnsley
Queens Park Rangers v Millwall
Stoke City v Reading
Cambridge United v Oxford United
Shrewsbury Town v Burton Albion
Charlton Athletic v Sheffield Wednesday
Exeter City v Bradford City
Salford City v Leyton Orient
Scunthorpe United v Swindon Town
Tadley Calleva v Baffins Milton Rovers
First game kicks off at 3pm BST. For the three point bonus predict which of the 24 teams in the Fourth Division (League 2 if you must) is the first one to score (minute of game should any kick off late).
