Only thirteen took part in the first round last season, so I think the summer tournaments must have a positive effect as well as the promotion made by some of our contestants, including the incumbent title holder, and also Snakey put a flash notice out there.
24 is a good number, but not too big for me to handle. There are always a few that lapse during the season as well, but it is encouraging that there are still plenty who enjoy doing this just for the hell of it.
