That's what I was alluding to. There was no card for a challenge designed to rip an opponent's knee apart.
Like, if VAR is going to rewind the clock back enough to rule out the penalty they should also be looking at the potential leg-breaker and telling the ref to consider penalising accordingly. Why are we only pursuing perfection when it comes to marginal offsides and not dangerous play?
Canada got the rub of VAR in this game with the gift of a penalty and then the gift of not a penalty and the inconsistency of application isn't making it feel less bent to me. Asllani was deliberately targeted first half and nothing was done about it.
