    Best games of the tournament

Ten best games of Euro 21 (and none of them feature England...):
    1. Spain 5 Croatia 3 (last 16)
    2. France 3 Switzerland 3 (last 16)
    3. Italy 2 Belgium 1 (quarter-final)
    4. Sweden 3 Poland 2 (Group E)
    5. Netherlands 3 Ukraine 2 (Group C)
    6. Spain 1 Italy 1 (semifinal)
    7. Denmark 4 Russia 1 (Group B)
    8. Portugal 2 Germany 4 (Group F)
    9. Switzerland 3 Turkey 1 (Group A)
    10. Italy 2 Austria 1 (last 16)

You could maybe flip one and two, but not replace them. The rest is up for debate.

France v Germany (Group F) ought to be in there.

I'd put Hungary-Germany in there. Not sure what to remove, because I didn't see all of them.

I thought Denmark v Belgium (Group B) was a really good watch.

Italy v Spain the best match, the final for being an utterly batshit Hunter S Thompsonesque occasion despite all the myriad problems off the field and a purely partisan vote for Wales v Turkey.

Good nomination, same with Denmark-Belgium. Denmark-Czechs was also a good game. I started out with a top 5 and expanded, now I'm thinking it could have been a top 20. England-Ukraine might even sneak in at around number 17 or so.

Not necessarily partisan because a lot of non-Welsh people I know thought it was a great game, whereas to me it looked like the latter stages of an FA Trophy tie with one side chasing the game but incapable of scoring, their chances alternating with the other side comically incapable of finishing it off. But I'd be prepared to give it the number 20 slot as a nod to its madcap novelty factor.

                  1. Italy 2:1 Austria (I like when 2 teams play perfect games. Austria played perfect, and would have won pre-VAR. This game taught Italy a valuable lesson they’d use against Spain.)
                  2. Spain 5:3 Croatia (Indiana Jones rollercoaster, but a tad goofy.)
                  3. France 3:3 Switzerland (see above)
                  4. Italy 1:1 Spain (shades of ‘94, which was one of my favorite WC games ever)
                  5. Netherlands 3:2 Ukraine (Group
                  6. Denmark 4:1 Russia (Group B)
                  7. [tie] Portugal 2:2 France / Germany 2:2 Hungary
                  9. England 2:1 Denmark
                  10. Italy 1:1 England (For a final it was quite good.)

I think France v Switzerland would be my game of the tournament. At 3-1 down I'd written Switzerland off and then they came back to draw and win on penalties.

                        I agree with this.

That game coupled with Spain-Croatia on the same day was probably the day of the tournament.

I doubt there's been a single day in any tournament with two such outstanding games.
