OK, so 2nd and 3rd will go into their last game against each other tied on 3 points, with 1st having already won the group and 4th already eliminated on H2H. What happens next (clue: 1982)?

The Austrian keepers yellow card was pointlessly hilarious. Complaining about an (correct) offside decision that he couldn't possibly see. Someone should tell the twat about VAR.

Not sure Netherlands have been that good here, regardless of what the commentators say. Austria have been poor for large parts of the game. Playing against one of the top teams will show up a lot of weaknesses in the Dutch team if they are this wayward with defensive clearances.

"Look at the tenacity of the Dutch captain"... losing the ball when he could have passed to any one of three other players

Still unconvinced by the Dutch, despite the purring of Pearce and Jenas. Austria were dreadful, don't think Alaba had any influence at all.

The lack of ruthlessness in front of net strikes me as the most obviously concerning thing about the Dutch. They need a lot of chances to get goals.

Yeah the praise for Holland from the commentators was baffling. Sure, they were the better side but they looked like a mid-table Championship team, no fluidity to their game at all and rubbish in front of goal

The funny thing is that the second team in the group will earn the right to be sent home by Italy, while the third team in the group (if they qualify) will meet some other (to be determined) group winner. I'd prefer 3rd over 2nd.

                        Hello, Sheep!

While the Dutch definitely get over-hyped, I thought this was a decent performance, as Austria struggled to create anything beyond half-chances (in particular Sabitzer was pretty much nonexistent the whole game). Dumfries continues to be a real standout, playing with three at the back allows him to bomb forward with abandon and he created the first goal and scored the second. They've got good options coming off the bench as well in terms of bringing in really different kinds of players, Malen for Weghorst being probably the best example. Don't think they have a chance in hell of winning the thing, I could definitely see them knocking out one of the second-tier contenders though.

Sean Dundee. Justin Edinburgh. Bryan Hamilton. Um ... Raheem Sterling.
