Hang on a minute lads. I've got a great idea - Italy v Switzerland

I don't really have much of a preview, I just wanted to use the thread title. OTF applause to who first notes the reference.

The Italian Job isn't it? Not sure where the Swiss fit in unless that's where the bus was headed.

      Ticino-ver the cliff, perhaps?

Puma's kits really annoy me for reducing the national emblem to the size of their logo, then frequently placing in them in proximity to each other. It creates an offensive equivalency that shouldn't be tolerated.

A long evening in store for the Swiss I reckon.

One of the nicest goals of the tournament there from Italy. My favourite so far.

Why did chiellini go off? I'm watching with Greek commentary and my Greek language skills don't go much beyond epharisto.

                    Hamstring, I think.

Glad that this goal stands, I must say.

ITV said he was pointing to his hamstring

That was a wonderful goal. I'd be fuming with the lack of tracking back by Switzerland, and with their no. 8 letting Locatelli breeze past him to tap home, and then turning round arms out as if someone else was responsible.

RTE didn't seem to know either. TBH it looked like John Terry's last game for Chelsea.

Cannot get on board with Italy wearing black shorts though. They are the home team, why aren't Switzerland forced to wear red?

I've never seen immobile play well. I presume he does for his club (Lazio?) but for Italy he always looks awful

They wore black shorts in 1966, when North Korea beat them. I'm surprised that they ever wore them again after that.

It's probably the "dark v light" thing Ray mentioned on the France v Germany thread yesterday.

                                    Tardelli-esque hit.

They do look something special, it must be said.

Italy's second was a great strike but Switzerland were barely defending.

Still a cricket score works for Wales. So bring it on

Is there a mic inside the ball? It's making a very loud "thud" sound like an old video game.

                                                Immobile isn't.

Nice little exchange down the wing from Switzerland, but as always the final pass was bobbins.
