We have been told that this is going to replace our badge and is part of our world marketing plan(i kid you not)
Most R's fans hate it.
What do you think?
first of all sorry if this has been talked about before.
And second is that no it is only one badge.
I have to say i am not a fan of it.
But the good news is that Lotto are doing the kits!
The not so old was somewhat controversial (and very much of its time), but certainly distinctive. The new one is rather generic. And how is it going to work on the kit? Will they just have the circle?
If you squint, it looks like the King of the Eyeball-Beasts. If you don't, it looks like an attempt at a rebrand of a pub that went through a unwise spell as a branch of Flares.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I really like the new QPR badge. OK, it's a little florid and over-designed, but it's got a pleasantly traditional feel, and the crown/foliage combimation gives it an agreeable air of faux class. Overall, a breath of fresh air in this age of stripped-down, detail-bereft club badges.
I thought it was quite the opposite, badges are becoming ever more grandiose with Liverpool's "bird - within a shield - on a crest - atop a scroll - with some flames either side - topped off with some gates - all on a background" disaster as the pinnacle.
I prefer the new Partick badge - at least it looks like it means something, unlike the not-so-old one that looks like a slightly better version of the Swindon monstrosity.
Not so keen on the new QPR one, although it's not as bad as some seem to be making out. It does have a more traditional feel, without the grandioseness alluded to upthread. However, I reckon it needs to be a bit more simple, and they ought to remove the wording, or just put the initials on. It looks like it was designed more to be a letterhead than a kit badge.
I assume Wigan are doing away with the old coat of arms for something easier to reproduce on merchandising (and something that can be trademarked). That's similar to Leicester & Gloucester in rugby.
Hey, it's the only time in living memory that QPR have had two active threads going at once.
Ah the fame!
The new kit and badge are to be revealed at the final game of the season against West Brom, and I will be in attendance. I'm so excited I can barely keep my knickers dry.
