I saw it. It wasn't a 'fresh air' dive, but a deliberate positioning of his leg in order to instigate contact with the keeper. And according to FIFA, that is a dive.

The usual rush to his defence by Messrs Redknapp and Gray was stomach-churning.

Gerrard's standard procedure is to run into/towards the box with defender, stick a leg out sideways to cause himself and defender to fall then to half get up very quickly with both hands in the air screaming at the ref. It usually works.
