Players who are sons of players who are younger than you are

The next stage in getting really old.

Especially if they've been knocking around for four or five years without you noticing.

Peter Schmeichel is almost exactly two years younger than I am.

      So, his boy.

Joe Raynes who plays for Bath City's dad is younger than me and has played drums in bands with me but I doubt you mean that sort of player.

Kluivert and Gudjohnsen spring to mind.

I thought your example was going to be your more-or-less next-door neighbour, Palkó Dárdai.

His old man's nearly ten years my junior.

Bugger it! 8 years younger than me.

Fuck, Tom Ince for me too. Bastard.

I mean, I hated him anyway, but...

I'm 34, so while it's not biologically impossible I would guess I'll be waiting a few years before I can join this club.

That's an even better call. In fact, it turns out he grew up in Seeburg, which is a village just to the west of Berlin, not far from where I am.

Paul Ince is nine days older than me, so I miss out on that one.

Arron Scholes of Manchester Premier League side Royton Town, it would appear.

I'm getting to the age where you could rename the thread " Players who are grandsons of players who are younger than you are".

Well indeed. Eiður Guðjohnsen was mentioned upthread, presumably as he has a son who's a player. Well, I'm older than his (Eiður Guðjohnsen's) dad, who was also a player.

I'm older than Jake Forster Caskey's dad but younger than his step-dad.

Erling Braut Haaland is among the most promising teeangers in Norway at the moment. His father, Alf-Inge Haaland is two years younger than me.

I'm younger than Sturridge's Dad, and his Uncle Simon, but older than Uncle Dean.
Older than both of Forster-Caskey's fathers, and also Caskey's team mate Nicky Barmby, whose lad Jack is now in MLS with Portland.

Patrick Kluivert might be younger than many OTFers, having been born in 1976. Ince is probably the closest to my cut-off (Paul having been born in 1967).

I'm two years older than you and have similarly struggled to find an example. It's surprisingly difficult to find players who became parents as teenagers.
