Surprising Pele Facts (Well I Didn't Know Them Until Just Now)

    1. His eldest daughter Kelly Cristina is listed as white on her birth certificate, classed by the race of the mother (source: 'African American–Latino Relations in the 21st Century: When Cultures Collide' by Karen Juanita Carrillo, p.8. This was a case of wealth and fame 'whitening' a lineage, which is not uncommon in Brazil, where race is not based purely on biological assumptions of descent. 2. He broke the nose of Agustin Mesiano in the 1964 game v Argentina by headbutting him, presumably after some provocation. Article:

There are videos of this game on Youtube but very poor quality and do not show the incident.

For some reason, until he was four years old Pelé's mother believed her son to be possessed by the spirit of recently-deceased British admiral George Egerton.

Pele doesn't know which way is up or down.

A visit to his GP led to a lucrative contract with Pfizer before anyone noticed a problem.

Pele is a vulgar corporate shill who'll turn up anywhere and say anything to anyone as long as he gets paid.
