Top lads and lasses, the Basques. I really liked Donostia, with it's lovely beaches, winding narrow streets, bang tidy pintxos, and that bar owned by ex ETA fellas who gave me a Basque language guide and served me ice cold beer. It must be great supporting a club that actually remembers it's rooted in a community and puts something back in.
Yeah. I know I used to support FC United. Mad huh.

Great city, great gesture but my inner Dave Spart sees a bit of a 'deserving poor' element in the having to have worked continuously 30-hour weeks for 180 days before qualifying.
If the economy was in deep shit and 56% of under 25s were unemployed, when/how were they supposed to get such qualifying experience?

I don't think it's that as such, it's just a lesser offering than the headline implies. What it appears to be trying to do is help out a specific group - those who have committed money to a season ticket and then lost their job and found themselves financially straitened. It isn't general aid to the unemployed.
