    West Ham's racist transfer policy

A club owned by pornographers with a Conservative peer on the board which was more or less donated its stadium built by public funds by Tory Mayor of London Boris Johnson complains about other people's bad attitude. Ok...

And no history of racist fans.

(was one of the main football grounds they sold the Flag in numbers, wasn't it?)

(See also Leeds United, Newcastle United, et al)

          There's a Guardian article: https://www.theguardian.com/football...der-dendoncker

But it does seem more focused on how it might affect their recruitment rather than that it is illegal and racist.

The thing that strikes me about this is that a 'director of recruitment' would not very likely implement a policy such as this alone. His job is to bring players in and how they behave after that is not even in his remit, so somebody either involved in club management or squad management has quite possibly told him, before the start of the transfer window, that they don't want any more African players. My guess is is that he is going to take the hit for being stupid enough to actually state this is club policy rather than actually instigating it, and WHUFC will come out of it looking like they have dealt with the racism issue and cut the cancer out.

It's ridiculous isn't it. He couldn't have been much worse if he had described them as 'uppity'.

Isn't it just one idiot's opinion though?

The club will claim it is, but I really don't think it is that simple.

Haven't Wet Spam's legal team not finished their due process to summarily dismiss him for gross misconduct yet?

I do hope the scumbag has an email trail from Gollivans or the Divine Lady Brady that lands the cunts right in it. Maybe some tangential Lord Sugar connection as well, every fucker involved with the Apprentice needs taking out. Obviously the last bit won’t happen but I can dream.

Didn't realise this was the same Tony Henry who played with a moustache for Man City, Oldham and the likes in the 80s. Overlapped with Moyes at Shrewsbury.

As stated, it would be very surprising jf this was one man's opinion. I wouldn't expect the Director of Recruitment to be there on the training ground and in the dressing room to witness the supposed disruption, it sounds more like chatter among coaches and the management team which has filtered through to him. Anyway, he's sacked. Full and thorough investigation. My arse.

Thoughts on this from West Ham Iain Dale

                                      https://www.westhamtillidie.com/post...won-t-end-here

I should be writing a post about the Brighton game this afternoon, but I think it’s important to comment on the events at the continuing soap opera that is West Ham United over the last forty-eight hours.

Last night West Ham sacked the Head of Recruitment, Tony Henry for racist comments contained in an email about African players. On the available evidence it was completely the right decision and one which we should all support. This was their statement…
