    Crawley haven't been close.

I don't think Accrington Stanley have played their either.

According to this post from ESPN's Dale Johnson, Accrington and Crawley are indeed the only two league teams to have not played at Wembley, new or old. There are seven further clubs who haven't played at the new Wembley (since the post was made Charlton won there in the play-offs while Bury went out of business).

Six unfortunately. Notts County aren’t a league club now.

Maybe there exists a definitive list of every team who has played at either of the Wembleys.

Newport have played there so many times in the past decade (admittedly two were as a Conference side) that missing out on a trip to contest the EFL Trophy barely registered as a disappointment.

              Wembley? Schmembley!

So this shit is still going ahead for 20-21, appaz. Tossers.

Woo hoo, dodged it (for a season)...

It's not going to be the same, with the shouts of the players echoing around an empty stadium...

I think the Wembley final is the carrot that is keeping clubs invested in it, otherwise it would have been binned.

I think it's more likely the Prem's money that's partly conditional on this B-teams bollocks that keeps clubs "interested".

Last season's competition still hasn't been finished. Portsmouth and Salford reached the final which should have been at Wembley at the beginning of April. Obviously that got postponed - but it still hasn't been cancelled. Portsmouth had shifted 50000 tickets and a couple of weeks back there was a piece on their website telling fans to keep hold of their tickets as there is still an intention to play the final whenever spectators are allowed back.

My thoughts exactly. Since they were in the final last year too, that is damned impressive

That's not the word I'd have used. But yes it's a lot.

One thing I like about Paul Lambert (and it's a short list) is his utter disdain for this tournament.

Some career stats for the outfield players starting for Ipswich at Crawley tonight:
                                  Average age - 18.5
Total starts (all comps) - 5
Total sub appearances (all comps) - 17
                                  Total league starts - 0
Total league appearances - 11 (and that's just two players)

                                  And the outfield subs:
                                  Total starts - 0
                                  Total subs - 1
                                  Total league appearances - 0

Unfortunately, after a team featuring some of these youngsters accidentally beat Gillingham last time, they may yet go through.

Nope, creepy Crawley have foolishly done enough to see themselves over the line with the hyper-motivated Arsenal youngsters.

No Pizza Trophy for the Towen this season.

Did we manage to rid ourselves of this shitty nonsense for this season?

No, you've progressed to the last 32.

We did. Just get promoted out of the way...

Not only is this competition ludicrously devalued by the b teams, but I have just noticed that they have some bizarre ice hockey style system where it is 3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw plus win on penalties, 1 point for a draw plus defeat on penalties.

Feels like this one bloke keeps coming up with shit ideas. They can’t sack him so they just use this competition as the dumping ground.

Man United U21 went out tonight to Accrington Stanley, the same night the seniors got dumped from the CL.
