    Midweek armchairs (Dec. 13th/14th)

My understanding is that there's no offside if the ball is last played by an opposition player. Or was there another offside preceding that? Or, indeed, have the rules changed?
On the first goal, the ball was played by Ibra (which incidentally was a handball) and when he played it Pogba was offside. It may have then deflected off a Palace player, but it's still offside.
So it should have been chalked off for both the handball and the offside.
As for the second, Ibra elbowed a palace player in the face so shouldn't really have been on the pitch to score it. Which along with Rojo getting a yellow for a two-footer of the sort a young Stevie G would have been proud of, Palace can consider themselves rather hard done by.

Right. And the blatant handball for which United didn't get a penalty, and the disallowed goal which was perfectly good? I don't imagine Palace can feel that hard done by.

And the FA panel of three refs who reviewed the elbow incident were unanimous that Zlatan has no case to answer. So he was rightly on the pitch.
