    Preston broken? Weekend Matchgoing

    Merstham 0-5 Oxford United in the FA Cup swiftly followed by South Park 0-2 Dorking Wanderers in Ryman League South. So a small dent made in the Ryman League, may go to Lewes tomorrow.

      Burton 0-0 Barnsley

      Another hard working performance from the Reds without any real quality to back it up. We were slightly on top in the first half but Burton were dominate in the second, so it was a point we didn't really deserve.

        Was thinking of going to watch Blades v Orient.

        Nah. Far too cold. (& now far too wet)

          Went to the match between Morecambe and Coventry this afternoon. Entertaining enough game with the draw probably a fair result.

          Beforehand I went to the Lancashire Sunday League match between Ribbleton Wanderers and Tarleton Corinthians. Finished 5-3 to the home side, despite the referee assisting on one goal for the visitors.

            Yokohama Sports & Culture Club 2 Cerezo Osaka U-23 2

            A storming draw in the J3 League. It looked very bad for the bottom-of-the-table hosts when the visitors took a two goal lead within twenty minutes and really should have had the game won by half time.

            YSCC dominated the second half though, pulling one back at the start and then battering Osaka to no avail until the 89th minute when they finally forced the ball in. Then they should have won it in five minutes of injury time squandering a few chances and being denied what looked like a fair penalty shout,

            Around a thousand there but a good atmosphere, especially when Yokohama got going late on, quite a few away fans and both teams had a dozen or so "ultras" with flags, drums and megaphones etc. ;

              Lost 2-4 but it was closer than that suggests, and a great atmosphere from the first 4,000+ crowd of the season. Not much between the two sides but as the difference was two goals, the two were Woking's second (fluid counter-attacking movement the likes of which I've not witnessed in National North, the BBC didn't do it justice by only showing half the move) and third (number 9 held off the defender, looked up and picked his corner, and found it accurately, none of our strikers would have been able to do all three).
