I can't remember the last time we had a home game to start with.

Hull's first four home fixtures are Leicester, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea. Grrrrrr, just as I was starting to get over Wembley and all.

Some talk of switching Liverpools opening home game against Burnley to Turf Moor due to the unfinished construction at Anfield.

Ooh, don't like that sort of thing. Back in 2004-05 Norwich were due to pay fellow promotees Palace at Selhurst, but it was agreed to switch to Carrow Rd. It felt like it added so much pressure that we needed to win it after the switch. Andrew Johnson getting them the draw felt like a massive blow right at the start of the season.

Heh, all of Leicester's post-Champions League matches are at home. And most of them against what would be assumed to be mid-table sides*, at best.

            Sep 17: Burnley (h)
            Oct 1: Southampton (h)
            Oct 22: Crystal Palace (h)
            Nov 5: West Brom (h)
            Nov 26: Middlesbrough (h)
            Dec 10: Manchester City (h)

This bending over backwards to fix things in favour of Big Blue Clubs is become too much!

            * - assuming where sides will finish based on reputation in a post that references what happened to Leicester last season obviously shows I've learned nothing. And am proud of it.

It's a bit early and possibly the wrong thread to post up one frustration I've had with commentators in the Euros, but I've heard a couple of pundits filling time musing on how Leicester will fare if they draw Barcelona or Bayern Munich in the CL group stages.

They won't. As English champions, they'll be seeded top. As will Barca, and Bayern. And Juve. And Real as champions. Leicester might get Atletico Madrid, though. Or Dortmund.

Dortmund? Easy. Just score more than them.

Otherwise, getting the excuses in early is top work. I approve.

Looks like we're playing home and away fixtures against the other clubs in the division in a randomly generated order again.

Not exactly. If the fixture list was random then somewhere, sometime there would be a club handed a long sequence of home games, or away ones. And there wouldn't generally be roughly half-season gaps between the first meeting of two sides and the return. The fixture list is a highly structured item, with only the slightest dash of randomness mixed in.

David Moyes objected when the fixture computer dealt him a fairly bad hand for his first five games of 2013-14. For this, he was derided as a whinging dickhead.

But the fixtures are fixed to some degree. The existence of Super Sunday alone proves this.

It wasn't just that that made people think The Moyesiah was a whinging dickhead, TBF.

When it comes to whingeing, David Moyes is a veritable Jehovah's Witness compared to most of the people who work in his sphere.

Super Sundays could happen by chance given the large amount of constraints on fixture list, so I feel that stretches 'prove' beyond its limit.
But I don't believe the Premier League, when confronted, has ever denied the accusation. They deflect instead. So Super Sundays are strong evidence that there is a certain amount of fixing going on.
