Zilina v Slovan Bratislava, Slovak Cup semi-final 2nd leg tomorrow eve. First leg finished 0-0, so nicely poised.

Hendon are already losing. They come out to "Ring Of Fire" for some reason. And those four hours of rain that we had this afternoon have done no favours to the pitch...

And, oddly, the Leatherhead number three is actually the Leatherhead blank. He must've had a nosebleed in the tunnel...

Hendon equalise from a parry by the keeper to the feet of about three offside forwards. Leatherhead unhappy.

If we don't win then the Play Offs are out of reach.

An excellent goal from Hendon makes it 2-1.

Might find something cheap and local on Wednesday night if I can get out of work by a reasonable hour.

                              Oh ho.

Finished Hendon 2 Leatherhead 3. Hendon fans are still very perturbed about their league position. And apparently Farnborough have suddenly acquired some cash, so could well be allowed to stay up.

Handsworth Parramore is a great name for a club. It's no Shaw Lane Aquaforce but it's pretty good. What's the story there?

                                  Aylesbury FC v Aylesbury United.

At the umpteenth time of asking, El-Quackiko is due tonight, threatening to cause mayhem at both ends of the table.

The former struggling to make the play-offs, possibly due to fixture pile up and the latter waking up and starting to pull clear of relegation.

But it chucked it down yesterday and their pitch has the all the drainage characteristics of Armboth Fell so it'll probably be off again.

Aren't Shaw Lane Aquaforce changing their name to Barnsley Town next season?

Quick summary of Handsworth Parramore - it's a merger between a local club and a former works team. For more detail I'd recommend referring to their Wiki page (read the individual club histories too).

Shaw Lane Aquaforce are indeed renaming to Barnsley Town next season. They should have changed when they got promoted to step 4 last year but the FA failed to realise that Aquaforce is a sponsor name. The club then hilariously complained that it was unfair to ask them to rename now. Shaw Lane is the sports complex where the club currently plays, interesting that they've removed that from their new name. Presumably it'll make it easier for them to move in the near future, which they'll need to do if they want to progress any further.

Having a terrible pitch and a wet winter means Bracknell Town are fitting in as many games as possible before the season conclusion next week, so it's another Sat, Tue, Thur, Sat week. Tuesday evening is Thatcham Town at home, Thursday being Royal Wootton Bassett at home.

A heavy schedule, but they've not got it as bad as Brimscombe & Thrupp who finish the season with five games in seven days. The last of which is a Cup Final.

Arundel vs Wick & Barnham Utd - currently 0-0 at half time, and it'll probably end that way.

Moved to Wick as Arundel's pitch is waterlogged - pleasingly W & B are in their change kit as they're officially the away team. It's one of those fluoro numbers that is somewhere between luminous green and luminous yellow. Whatever it is, its no colour for a football shirt.

Knew that would do it - final score Arundel 2 - 1 Wick & Barnham Utd. Entirely fair result - the winner was one of those flukey looping crosses to nobody in particular that dropped in at the far post.

                                              Maltby Main 1-2 Handsworth Parramore

Good game this between two good sides and where the tension threatened to boil over with a couple of confrontations.

Maltby took the lead with a rubbish penalty, then had the better of play. Handsworth improved from the bench and equalised from a corner with quarter of an hour left. A draw wasn't much use so they pushed on for the win and it came with a deft lob with just two minutes to go.

Went to FC Britannia 2-1 Burton Thistle last night in the North Lancashire League. Played in a park in Lancaster which has a high wall that hides the West Coast Mainline. Britannia struggled early on but scored twice in a few minutes to take a half time lead. Burton scored within a couple of minutes of the restart and threatened an equaliser for most of the second half but Britannia held on.

Today I watched Daten 3-0 Billinge in the Cheshire League. Odd game as Billinge dominated possession and chances. There isn't a place called Daten - they play in Culcheth and started out as a works team for the Ministry of Supply - Department of Atomic Energy.

                                                  Zilina 1 Slovan Bratislava 1

Slovan progress to the Slovak Cup final on away goals following this second leg tie. It was 0-0 in Bratislava last week.

Proper cup-tie feel about last night's game. Both sides wanted it badly, there was a fair bit of imprecision about the play, with odd moments of good football. Slovan's goal came from sub Filip Orsula's first touch of the ball.

Slovan v Trencin in the final in Trnava, and Trencin have to win. As far as I know, they have the only avowedly anti-racist fan group in Slovakia. Meanwhile, Slovan fans were doing monkey chants at Zilina right-back Ernest Mabouka last night. Not that you'd hear anything about that from Slovak media.

Could get nasty at the final, as it's being played in Trnava, and Spartak, the local club there, hate Slovan's guts.
