Liverpool's Sterling is going nowhere - Rodgers

    That's an astonishingly frank admission

Do we really have to have a new thread every time Rodgers opens his mouth about Raheem Sterling?

Honestly, kids today and their sense of entitlement.

He'll vanish down the pecking order at one of the clubs he's linked to, and in a few years come back and play for Newcastle.

      They always do.

I find the subject endlessly fascinating.

I think Rodgers had some business cards printed recently. People were impressed by the quality and design, but were a little put off by the strap line 'I Am The Way And The Life'.

Surely the real news in that article is that Mark Lawrenson has awoken briefly from his slumber of inane cuntitude to speak sense: "He's 20 and not going to Real Madrid or Barcelona or Paris St-Germain. He's not at that level and he has a lot of work to do."

Next we'll find that Jeremy Clarkson finds the Tories' dismantling of the NHS unacceptable, urging all his fans to vote Labour.

Sterling and his agents seem to realise that he won't be viewed as a great player for long. Incredible fuss and hype about someone who can't kick a ball without scuffing it.

Lots of indignation from former players who seem very bitter that they never had that kind of negotiating power at that age. Not that he's worth anywhere near what he is asking for, but any one of them would have mad the same play had they been in a position to at that age.
