Some great pics of Millwall's horrendous desert camouflage kit, via the Mascots Observing Minutes Silence thread. Quite what Millwall's Irish trio thought of dressing up in British military paraphernalia is not recorded.

I presume that Platini did his service is the relatively famous Bataillon de Joinville which existed solely for promising footballers to expunge their service obligations while avoiding harm and perhaps winning France a few military football competitions.
Which would mean that everyone else in the photo is also a footballer (note that they are posing w/footballs rather than weapons), and wondering to themselves just how much of a prima donna Michel was.

Here's a photo of the Bataillon de Joinville team from 1973, including a number of future French internationals (as well as teammates whose names have been lost to the vagaries of football history)

South Korean side Sangmu are similar to the Joinville side, in that they are made up of players on national service. They currently play in the second tier, although they have spent most of the last decade or so in the top flight (mostly towards the bottom)
