    Haunted Dancehall - Serie B 2023/24

Bit late with this one as round 3 is about to start, but a perfect excuse to share Sampdoria's instagram post for tonight's home game against Venezia:

Apologies for the link but copying the URL into [Upload from URL] does not work. Worth clicking on of you want to see Pirlo dressed as sailor.

Samp have had more chances in the first three minutes of the game then they managed in average during 90 minutes last season.

Oh well, another home defeat (1-2). Early season pattern is lack of a goal scorer and the inability to do the basics of defending. Parma are top with maximum points and Venezia are second.

Not the start to the season they’d have been hoping for. I’ve got a soft spot for Samp and Genova city, but fuck ‘em tonight: get in there, Gli Arancioneroverdi!

Palermo ("the pink-and-black attack) go third after a 3-0 win over rock bottom FeralpiSalo, includes an assist from Liam Henderson. FeralpiSalo are from Salo the capital of the Mussolini's Italian Social Republic (1943-45) as well providing the name for Pasolini's final film.

Its taken to round for Serie B to confirm the final two teams in the league. Lecco, promoted last season, have had their stadium accepted and Brescia have had there previous relegation reversed after Reggina were demoted due to financial issues.

Whilst browsing the Wikipedia page for Serie B 2023-24 I saw that two of Cosenza's shirt sponsors are food related: Sila potato (a variety grown on the Sila plateau in Calabria) and Malizia chilli pepper. I found there is a Calabrian recipe that combines the potato, chili and peppers called Peperoni E Patate / Pipi E Patate which I've just cooked. Some complaints from the family due to the heat of the chili, despite me drastically cutting down, but I loved it. If anyone is interested I combined the following two recipes and cooked in the over:

Another example of an Instagram post from the Sampdoria account to promote the recent game with Pisa

Another 'classic' Instagram post for tonight's game with Cittadella. Before anyone asks I have no idea who or what Pirlo is meant to be,

How come Lecco and Brescia have played only 2 matxhes while most other teams have completed 5?

Presumably because they only had their places in the division confirmed late on (see response # 7)

The now traditional instagram post for today's game away at Parma. Sorry, but no Pirlo fancy dress, just a celebration of the friendship between the supporters of the two clubs.

Very comfortable win for Catanzaro away at Suditirol, which I thinks takes them to second. They looked good against Samp as well (well everyone does these days!). So EIM what's happened to Cosenza this season? A 3-0 win at home to Lecco consolidates there good start and puts them in the play-off places.

Next up its hipster heaven as Venezia take on Parma. Looks like the 3pm blackout does not apply to Mola's coverage of Serie B. Parma are unbeaten and top the table, 5 points clear of third place Venezia. Oh man the tv is showing pictures of the Parma players walking to the ground through the marina, makes up for fucking Oasis being played in the ground,

I've no idea what's changed at Cosenza, but every time I look they've scored a 95th+ minute winner. And when they couldn't seem to score at all at the end of last season, they're battering loads in this.

Goalless at half-time, but a decent game. Meanwhile Sampdoria are losing 1-0 away at Ascoli, come next week Pirlo might be joining Mourinho in looking for employment in Saudi Arabia.

Samp equalize through Fabio Borino (yes, that Fabio Borino).
                                          Venezia now 2-1 up.

Just watching Samp away at Sudtirol - how beautiful is the backdrop to the Sudtirol stadium? Tree covered hills that towers over the stand! Along with Spezia and Venezia Serie B must have the the most beautiful locations for football grounds.

Next game for me is Ascoli - Parma, and whilst not as draw dropping as Sudtirol it's another beauty. More tree covered hills and an awesome looking house over-looking the ground.
