My sympathies go to any neutral who chose to watch the Yorkshire derby, because both teams were absolute fucking garbage. I have no idea what Xisco is trying to do tactically with us other than playing 5-4-1 at home to the bottom team and if he got the sack tomorrow I would not be in the slightest bit upset.

There was a tennis ball protest, not huge, but it did stop the game briefly. Some fans booed it which begs the question what makes them happy about our dear leader.

WE HAVE WON A LEAGUE GAME!!

          Well that was quite something.

Early stages of course but a strange-looking league table tonight – 7 points between 3rd and 4th, then just 3 points separating 4th and 15th.

I'll say. Given how little justification is needed nowadays for teams to wear their change kit, i was shocked to see norwich not doing so when even a curmudgeon like me would have, as the youngsters say, 'allowed it'.

Dunno if there's a moral there, what with argyle beating them like an egg. Maybe there's no moral, just a detached tale of modern alienation.

Norwich’s away kit is all green.

They do have the usual superflous third kit as well, though I imagine too dark to have been helpful against Plymouth.

Well, that was rather comfortable for a Sky game. Stoke were pretty bloody abject, though.

Tyler Morton is a genuine talent, he could end up being the signing of the season.

Don't know if the fellow Ipswich fans are not posting on here for fear of jinxing this incredible start. I've been that way inclined.

As expected, I guess, being a fairly expansive team we are conceding more than last season, since the opposition is a big step up and able to take their chances when they come. So we've now had home games with scores of 3-4 and 4-3, for example. Somehow we've got into a little breakaway group with Preston (did anyone who knows this division better see that coming by the way) and the 2016 Champions of England and 2021 FA Cup winners, whom I think we were all expecting to do quite well this season.

Morsy has now got his customary yellow card accumulation ban for the Huddersfield game so that will mean a bit of a rejig; Omari Hutchinson is putting massive pressure on Broadhead and Burns for a starting place on the wing and we seem to have come this spell without our first choice keeper ok. There were still some question marks over cover at centre back but the signing of Tuanzebe, once he gets up to match sharpness, combined with young Elkan Baggott (16 full caps for Indonesia) should mean we're ok there.

I had kind of assumed we'd had a fairly easy start but we've actually faced the teams currently in 5th, 6th and 7th; three from the top half and five from the bottom - so not too easy on reflection.

Thank-you again for the wishes. Back to the football, I made my first two Argyle games of the season last week.

Bristol City away (1-4) was dreadful. Schumaeker made 7 changes from the team that had lost at PNE and it included dropping (resting) our four best players to the bench. It seemed foolish before kick-off really, away to an established Championship side just after an international break, it didn't really seem necessary and it was arguably an insult to City. They battered us from the off, pressing us really hard and we could barely deal with any cross that came in our box. They looked a decent side but I doubt they'll get an easier game all season.

Walking home after, I had to cross the yellow banana bridge near Temple Meads and there were a few Under 5s there looking to yell "Come on then" at anyone. One asked me if I supported City or Rovers - !! - and after a pause, I replied "Manor Farm". It stunned them a bit and I walked away unscathed, laughing to myself and perhaps grateful for local non-league knowledge.

Norwich City home (6-2). I can only refer to Greenlander excellent report in the match-going thread for last week, the polar opposite of Tuesday and with a return to our strongest line-up, it arguably vindicated the resting of them at City. The front 3 of Azaz, Hardie and Whittaker were superb; pacy and some wonderful interplay. The local boy doing increasingly good, Adam Randell, was similarly as superb in the midfield. He is loved in our fanbase but not quite as much as locally born keeper Michael Cooper, personally I think Randell is better and can go further in his career.

Norwich couldn't deal with our pace but they didn't press us anything like the level I'd have expected, and that made it easier.

Ahead of further expected protests at Wednesday v Sunderland tonight, Chansiri has come out swinging with his latest tantrum masquerading as statement. Difficult to know where to start with that really, but telling fans they "have no right to ask him to leave" "protests are a waste of time" and that "fans need to have more respect" is not going to go down well. Fuck off, fuck off, and fuck off again.

Is he likely to sell and are there any potential suitors? If his latest statement is to be believed, he's putting in £2m of his own money in per month. This is after he chucked a shed load in when he first took over from Mandaric?

It still begs the question why anyone sane would put money into a football league club.

Chansiri is an obvious arsehole and I hope you’re rid of him and his wannabe feudalist reign soon.

Answering the second part of that question first; yeah, there's a bloke called Adam Shaw knocking about who is tangentially referenced in the tantrum. Shaw is an American based businessman, originally from Sheffield and has publicly expressed an interest in buying the club. He is the back of the shirt sponsor for the season to show some degree of commitment in putting money into the club. He's gone quiet in recent weeks, not clear whether that's because he simply doesn't have the money to do a deal, or if he's been discouraged, or he's just playing a long game. Beyond that there's no known interest, we'd be down to the usual cast of Bassini-esque tyre kickers, or sportswashers, or spreadsheet dudes, or crypto scammers, or other people who try to buy football clubs.

Getting Chansiri to sell could I imagine be challenging given his regular behaviour, he doesn't strike me as somebody who would be easy to do business with in terms of cutting a deal. Probably the best way for this to happen would be either going into admin or hoping his wider family (who do actually seem capable at business) notice that he is bringing shame on the family name and either force him into a sale or bring their own people in to protect the asset.

I suspect what minor consolation our fans were given by United getting thrashed 8-0 by a team from the north east may be shattered by us losing by more to another one

Fuck me. This could be another 8-0 (edit, cross post with ad hoc), that was absolutely appalling and I'm not going to bother with the rest of it.

They *have* to beat West Brom on Tuesday, or sack Xisco, preferably both, because it's Huddersfield and Darren Moore at Hillsborough next Saturday and that will be toxic.

It read so much like a statement from our not so dearly departed former chairman it was untrue.

Well that was the worst Wednesday team I’ve seen us play on tv or in the flesh.
Is that the idiot owners name picked out in white seats against the blue? If so the next lot can gain good will by inviting fans in to replace those seats with blue ones asap. Though with seat fade it may still be visible. Best reshuffle the white ones to read SWFC.

Best of luck with getting rid and staying up. If I was a super rich loon I’d view Wednesday as the one bargain available atm. There’s no one near their size or with their potential below them. I’m sure a deal can be done.

Just when we had the chance to reach for the sun we throw a 2 goal lead away to Stoke. Sodding Stoke.

And we're in the bottom three. It's almost a calendar year since we won a match at Loftus Road.

This is the 3rd time I've seen Leicester. They're streets ahead of the rest of the division on current form.

One of the official Argyle coaches broke down on the way back from Hull. Then the replacement, then the replacements replacement. In the end a 30-hour round trip and almost the very definition of to Hull and Back.
