Anthony Gordon for £40m? A forward short after the Wood loan and it is fair to say it not a like for like replacement.

Almost five months after joining Stockport, and literally not kicking a ball in anger yet, Daniel Okwute gets a loan move until March to NPL side Warrington Rylands - presumably if he impresses there, he'll move up to some echelon of the National League until the end of the season.

He was last season's League of Ireland top scorer, with 18 goals, and he'll be well able for the physicality of League One. Also, our Scottish posters got a brief taste of his talents when Sligo dumped Motherwell out of the Conference League. LoI fans will be keen to learn the fee - interesting that your previous record was £50k!

I think they're going meta. There's no particular reason to use Gavin and Stacey, beyond the fact there's an overly elaborate sequence and it contains Gavin/Obafemi's comment about how long they've taken to prepare it, which is presumably what opposition fans ask.

Weston McKennie to Leeds for around a mill for a loan with a potential 33m move at the end of the season. From what I've seen of Leeds this season, they badly needed another CM as Roca has been wildly inconsistent (and often just bad) and McKennie-Adams should be a very solid partnership if/when they play together.

With Jonjo Shelvey only two appearances away from an automatic contract extension, it seems Nottingham Forest are swooping in to take him off NUFC's hands and wage bill.
One more veteran of our last Championship season on the way out, another symbol of the remarkably slow turnover of players during the Ashley era on his way out (if I hadn't just checked I wouldn't have believed he's been here seven years). Maybe we can talk them into taking Matt Ritchie, Karl Darlow, Isaac Hayden, Ciaran Clark, Jeff Hendrick, and Paul Dummett as well?
Won't be missed, by me anyway. Even if he could manage to stay free of injury, and if he could get his form and fitness up to snuff (which, to be fair, had improved under Howe), he's just hugely unsuited to playing any sort of pressing game, and now that we've got two centre halves who can pass the ball there's very little he's got to offer.

Reported that Fleetwood are spending £250k on signing Jack Marriott from Posh. I said that it must be nice to have kind of money available but then I saw this reported

Crikey. Heard that an offer from FGR was refused last month (not sure whether by player or club). Just hope if it's true he sticks around longer than Jamie Robson and makes a good impression.
