"Irish Veterans" - I'm sort of assuming (perhaps wrongly) that this doesn't mean Irish people who are veterans, but Veterans who fought in Ireland. Kind of like Aldershot Iraqis.

Giggler Hallam share with a cricket club, so that will be moved as they can't host on Saturdays. If past experiences are a guide then it'll be a Sunday afternoon game. Expect there'll be a big crowd (1k plus) all told, wonder if they might consider ticketing it.

'fraid so. Town became nomadic in later years, and played in Milton Keynes before being swallowed by the 'MK Irish' entity. I still feel a pang when these fixtures come out and I know Town won't be in them. Bridport (my mum's local team) don't appear to have entered either, so my interest is limited to Aylesbury United.

Yes, MK Irish are based at the Irish Centre in Bletchley, locally known as Manor Fields. As delicatemoth says, Buckingham Town ended up playing at that venue for a few years when they lost their ground in Buckingham, and then some years ago at the resuscitated Wolverton Town there was a split between the committee and the playing side, the latter folding and the former beginning a new club called Unite MK, which at-short-notice needed a new place to stage home games and started groundsharing at Manor Fields. With some inevitability Buckingham Town and Unite MK later merged, initially under the name MK Robins as a nod to Buckingham's heritage, but a year later (three seasons ago? Something like that) they became MK Irish.

Harpenden or Hertford games for me if I can’t get a tkt for Bristol City away. I’m actually sitting in a seaside caravan in Burnham as i post so could maybe attempt one in their end on our midweek jaunt up to the big city but there’s no fun watching games like that.
Haway Seaham, Sunderland RCA and Crook.
Seahams in the frame for retiring too. Sun RCAs pitch was visible from my old school classroom across the school graveyard (rough school). My mams cousin played for Crook in their Amateur Cup winning heyday in late 50s-early 60s and got a few England amateur caps. More interestingly he was approached by Revie when he took over Leeds to go full time as he wanted a few experienced heads alongside the young thrusters already there or about to be signed. Whether that was to be alongside or instead of Collins I’ve no idea. Being an architect in his late 20s it wasn’t worth the move for a couple of years as a pro.

Desborough are the ones that always intrigue me

aka the ground you go past on the train to London in that little town / village you can't identify.

(But it's near the triangular lodge which you can also see from the train)

Lancing's ground is only about 20 minutes door to door from my house, and if I'm not working that day the opportunity to see them play a team that seems to have been named by a dog seems too good to pass by.

Intrigued by New Salamis (105). A shame they avoided Cockfosters in the draw.
