I think in the Premier League (but not the EFL?) you can't have higher than your highest existing number plus [relatively small number]. But because TAA came up from the academy rather rapidly, he was still wearing the sort of number they give to kids so they know whose training top is whose.

Biggest <wanker sign> moment with numbers I can remember was Ade Akinbiyi signing for Palace midseason (and what a season saving purchase it was), and as the number 10 was occupied by one of our strikers who actually scored goals, he had 55, with a small + sign between the numbers.
