We're heading into our 26th year with Errea. A lot of Cheltenham fans have been praying for another manufacturer for years - I'm quite blind to it these days.

Notwithstanding this visual evidence, sources in Spain assure me that Madrid are not starting a cricket team

The Newcastle Saudi shirt reminds me of Liverpool's white and green change shirt from... the 90s? I think.

None of them have got sponsor logos on. Is that because of a lack of sponsor?

Looks like the Fun88 deal has been cancelled. I'd be awfully surprised if it wasn't Aramco on there come August.

Yeah, I thought the owners might not want a gambling company on their investment's vestments.

                Any particular reason?

                  Not very Wahabi

Yeah, I had a pootle about and saw that gambling is prohibited under Saudi law (didn’t realise it was, just thought it frowned upon), but as ever, online gambling is rife. I can see what Patrick was meaning now.

Almost thirty years ago, I did a deal with the Saudi sovereign wealth fund in which they absolutely insisted that their funds never be used in investments involving "alcohol, gaming or hog agriculture".

It is very deeply rooted in Wahabism.

Presumably they wouldn't go back to Wonga as a sponsor either.

If they develop a Murabaha line they will be fine.

Are clubs now forbidden from previewing next season's kits in the last game of the season? I don't think I've seen any new kits in action yet.

I am impatient for new kits.

Arsenal wore their new one yesterday.

Ah, I went to bed before they came on.

I probably should have watched all of MotD before making this observation, thinking about it.

Gladbach finally get rid of Postbank as a sponsor, which improves the shirt no end.

Nice shirt, but it does remind me of …

That should be banned as far as I'm concerned. Then again every time I see the back of Trent Alexander-Arnold's shirt, I feel like someone's walking on my grave. How the hell is that even allowed. Squads are limited to 24/25 players. I don't even think 2 is in use. There was a rule in the football league that stopped it happening. I remember hearing a few players at Forest being told to lower their number as it was high for basically no reason.

Gladbach and PostBank went their separate ways in 2020

Patrick Roberts has been wearing 77 for Sunderland this season despite 39 being the next highest occupied number so if that rule was in place it has been excised.

I think in the Premier League (but not the EFL?) you can't have higher than your highest existing number plus [relatively small number]. But because TAA came up from the academy rather rapidly, he was still wearing the sort of number they give to kids so they know whose training top is whose.

I wondered if this was the number of minutes he played at Manchester City. He didn't get that high.

Biggest <wanker sign> moment with numbers I can remember was Ade Akinbiyi signing for Palace midseason (and what a season saving purchase it was), and as the number 10 was occupied by one of our strikers who actually scored goals, he had 55, with a small + sign between the numbers.

                                                  He took that from Iván Zamorano's reaction to having to hand over the 9 shirt to the original Ronaldo at Inter ;

Nobody should imply Zamorano is a wanker though.
