Messi will be introduced imminently, it seems.

I get the feeling that BT aren't expecting any of us Reims fans to be watching...

Messi is going to get murdered. Plenty of "welcome to France" tackles so far.

They were kicking the fuck out of mbappe as well. Though I don't know how veratti didn't pick up a second booking at some stage, and paredes should have got a red for a wild, late and completely pointless foul near the end.

It's always vaguely puzzling to me, that even though the players change constantly, psg players always seem to always be the flap of an amazonian butterfly's wings away from a straight red card.

More trouble at the Derby du Nord today, as a reasonably large group of Lens muppets decided to run across the pitch at half time to "challenge" the travelling LOSC support at half time.

Two injuries, match resumed after police attention and Lens won for the first time in a while.

LOSC have yet to win in their title defence.

Galtier must have known there was something up, that he defected to Nice so swiftly in the close season.

Turn on PSG vs Lyon, and the first thing I see is di maria going over the ball and putting a full set of studs on the shin of a lyon player. Fortunately the referee is a fan of common sense and letting the game flow, and only gives him a yellow card. You'll struggle to see a more textbook straight red.

Christ, but Neymar is an arsehole.

It's panto season and Saint-Étienne is crap Cinderella. We've hit the very bottom, looking dreary and guileless: on social media supporters are sharing minute-by-minute accounts of the mundane tasks they're choosing to do rather than feel their will to live leaking away in front of the football. And we're being courted by several suitors, each less attractive than the next. Top of the stinking heap was our very own prince charmless, a nephew to the Cambodian monarch, with a fantastically empty cv, whose failed bid for the club included a forged guarantee from a bank to a company that claimed not to know anything about it. Next to that, the other candidates seem almost viable: a Russian oligarch and Putin ally whose firm ran Portsmouth FC when it went into administration; a pair of inevitable American "boutique" hedge funds (one of which claims to invest in "high-growth attractive verticals": a poor fit for a team that cannot complete a forward pass); a self-professed "unsexy" local organic grains entrepreneur who's basically been rattling a tin around the Rhône Valley since having his initial offer snubbed; and an equally unpromising purveyor of wellness beverages whose plea to get the socios (supporters organisation) on board has been handsomely rebuffed.

Several of the bidders have made it known that the funds they claim to want to invest are conditional on the team remaining in Ligue 1. Hence manager Claude Puel got the boot last week. The new man, chosen today, has an impeccable track record, having got first Évian, then Toulouse relegated from Ligue 1, and done his darnedest to take Caen down from L2 before being sacked earlier this year.

At least the Wicked StepmOL are playing like shit too.
