      this is odd

West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers posted strong messages of solidarity on their Arabic social media accounts, only to delete the posts hours later.

“You don't have to be Palestinian to speak. You have to be a human,” the Wolves deleted tweet said. “Our hearts and our prayers are always behind you in Palestine. God save the people of Jerusalem and all of Palestine.”

The now-removed West Ham statement said that Palestine “was and always will remain the land and home for the Palestinians alone” and that the club supported them in the struggle.
they wouldn't be tweeting something to get the support of Arbaic speaking supporters but deleting so as not to get the wrath of the Premier League would they?

Arsenal, showing their learning from the Ozil/Uighur controversy, have this time expressed support for their player airing personal views on their personal sites, but have also said they will "speak to Mo to remind him of his responsibilities", which is a bit of a cop out. The map with Israel removed on El Neny's post is presumably most problematic for them.

In-between pushing his hotels dot com advertising campaign, Eric Cantona has been speaking out about Palestine, which isn't a surprise as he's a long time supporter of the Palestinian cause, as well as Amnesty International.

On Instagram he's promoting a group called Hoping Foundation that works with young Palestinian Refugees.

Leicester's Hamza Choudhury and Wesley Fofana celebrated winning the FA Cup with the Palestinian flag.

I recall Cristiano Ronaldo flying a Palestinian kid hurt by settlers (or IDF, I don't remember exactly) to Madrid. Around the same time when Messi and pals were posing with genocide posterboy Netanyahu.

                      Ta, Ursus

There was a mini segment about El Neny on Sky Sports News just now that clearly conflated support for Palestine with anti-semitism.

Pogba and Diallo held up a Palestinian flag yesterday after Man Utd's game. I'd post a picture but I've only seen it on Facebook and I don't know how to transfer it over here (at least from my phone)
