All the Canadian teams have applied, I guess is the word, to play at home this or next weekend with at least a few thousand fans in.

Alphonso Davies tore an ankle ligament in Gold Cup training. 5 members of Haiti's team got the rona, along with enough of Curacao's whole delegation that they got replaced last minute by Guatemala.

Vancouver are loaning one of their defenders to a Greek team for a couple years.

NWSL San Diego TBNL's hired a GM; USL San Diego beat Tijuana in a friendly.

DCU's 4 team tournament became a 2 leg "cup" with Alajualense, won with a goal in each leg, and a friendly Wednesday with Alianza after Alianza and Puebla got the rona as well.

The USL continues to rumble along and amuse. Charlotte finally got to their massively renovated old home, played their 5th game in 17 days, and scraped a draw with Phoenix. Tulsa got 3 in the 1st 15 minutes at home to Louisville, gave up 2, then in the 94th had a guy free on goal, the opposing keeper BEHIND him after coming up for a corner,...and the ref blew for full time. RBNY II were up 2 and down a man in the 85th, and blew the lead by the 92nd. Atlanta half fixed their turf, and it's still the worst in America, and Loudoun get blown out a lot.

TFC and the Impact get to play at home this Saturday, TFC again in midweek. Vancouver can't yet because work's being done on the stadium.

Sam Vines to Royal Antwerp is likely, for up to $2M plus a sell on.

Rayo Vallecano is looking into buying Lucas Cavallini.

Casey Stoney to coach NWSL SD.

El Salvador may have to move their home qualifiers coming up to the US due to the rona, They've approached DC about putting their game against the US at Audi.

        Ethan Horvath to Nottingham Forest.

the Raiders Vegas deathstar will host the next 2 finals of the Leagues Cup.

The kid from Louisville on the initial 60 man Gold Cup roster list is likely moving to Real Sociedad for only $100K due to a clause in his contract saying if John Hackworth left Lousiville, he can leave for free at the en of the season. LCFC is....not happy.

LAFC is alleged to be worth $860M. In equally plausible news, I am alleged to be a god.

Venezia is likely to buy Tanner Tessman off Dallas, who have loaned another of their wunderkids to an Austrian team.

And Dallas gets a wire transfer of $4.1M for Tessman, with sell-on.

Houston after the season is putting in safe standing at one end, and a premium all inclusive area at the other.

2 new names. The Knoxville team starting in USL2 next year and going to USL1 in 2023 is now officially One Knoxville SC, and the Northern Colorado USL1 team next years is the Northern Colorado Hailstorm.

Andre Blake's contract is extended with Philly, as is Efrain Alvarez' with LAG.

We will have a Voyageurs Cup

Not only do the Whitecaps not get a bye (while Forge of Hamilton do); they have to get through a localish derby against Pacific FC to progress

Losing that, which is absolutely possible, would be a massive kick in the teeth for the Whitecaps organisation. One they totally deserve.

Gianluca Busio almost gone also to Venezia, for an initial $41.M rising to 10 depending on assorted things.

Gabriel Heinze blown out in Atlanta, amid Josef Martinez being sent to train on his own, and MLSPA formally grieving about reports that players weren't being allowed to drink enough water during training and ignoring mandated off days for training, which led to a shitton of injuries. Followed by reports that he'd fine anyone at Velez who had gained weight, leading to players getting eating disorders there.

Frank de Boer has also said he'd be happy to come back.

Orlando news x2: The sale to the Wylf's is finally complete, and they lose Chris Mueller after the season for nothing after he signed a pre-contract in Europe, seemingly Scotland.

All of the MLS reserve teams in the USL are almost officially out the door for the new MLS lower league. All but RBNT/LAG/ATL II and Loudoun United after this season, those t4 after next. USL's response is to start looking into pro/rel between its' divisions by 2026, and moving to a fall to spring schedule to differentiate itself as much as possible now from MLS. They're lining up a new owner for Charlotte Independence as well..

Andy Najar got called up as an injury replacement for the Gold Cup, as did Henry Kessler and Cade Cowell.

Chicago's owner is debating buying himself an overseas farm team.

Mark-Anthony Kaye and a 1st round draft pick sent from LAFC to Colorado for a million bucks of allocation money and a 2022 international slot.

Ricardo Pepe signed a new 5 year contract with Dallas, allowing the cash register to overflow with transfer offers.

Buchanan had a fantastic Gold Cup, he should be able to write his ticket to anywhere in Europe (plus weakening the Revs seems like a pretty good thing to me).

Junior Hoilett seems to making come-and-get-me noises to Toronto FC but I have my doubts it will happen...need to dump some salary and hard to see how that's going to happen in this window.

Rather than going anywhere in Europe, Lens strikes me as somewhere Buchanan would be sure to play regularly and develop without a huge amount of pressure. To be fair, so is Augsburg, which has also expressed interest. Club Brugge, the third club to be named, would combine European competition with a bit more pressure.

Lugano in Switzerland, it turns out.

Secondary transfer window closed Thursday with all sorts of chaos. Portland traded Jeremy Eboisse to San Jose for 1.167M of allocation money, and San Jose then sent Florian Jungwirth to Vancouver to get some allocation dollars back, among many many moves. FCC went through the entire window doing not much, then the day after fired their GM.

Josh Sargent's off to Norwich for about $13M

Des Moines Menace won USL2; Asheville City is joining the W League.

Leagues Cup (and CCL semis for Philly) are yesterday and today. KC played kids, and lost 6-1. Seattle didn't, and beat Tigres.

FC Dallas are loaning Scott Sealy's kid to PSV for 2 years.

Dates and locations are finalized for the first few WCQ's. El Salvador will play at home after all.

TFC made their interim coach permanent to the end of the season.

In the NWSL, Orlando's players are almost all very pointedly saying how much better things are being done now that their coach left for Old Trafford, and the Spirit head coach has health issues and is stepping away for a while, and will go into the front office when he comes back.

Or, about 30 minutes after I typed this, he ended up getting straight up fired for being the same verbally abusive POS to professional adult women he was to youth players before the Spirit hired him, after a WaPo reporter called the Spirit with sources, dates, and details. 3rd party investigation to follow.

I recommend watching the YouTube highlights of Colorado Springs-Hartford for the qualify, Vegas-Phoenix for the first goal, and both Tacoma-Oakland and Atlanta-Indy for the beyond horrible defending and goalkeeping.

Has the Spirit guy really been fired?

The original release said he was going to join the front office and then they "suspended" him.

The Leagues Cup match between NYCFC and Pumas has been delayed for an hour because of lightning.
