"Oliver Norwood" fits very satisfyingly into the "'ave a banana" bit from "Let's All Go Down the Strand".

As suggested upthread, it can only be 'Adam Lallana'.

That The Good the Bad and The Ugly theme, the one that goes "daddle-addle-ow, dow-now-now" - Aliadiere fitted really well into the "daddle-addle-ow" bit. I was most disappointed that Arsenal fans never used it as his chant.

From a similar time, I remember a letter in WSC that said that every time he saw Southampton's Latvian striker, he started humming "Knowing me, knowing you, Pahars".

I've just been reminded of how I wound up my then flatmate during the 2014 World Cup, by humming the theme tune to The Sweeney every time Blaise Matuidi was mentioned on commentary.

Hearing the commentator say "Kalulu" in the Milan game just now reminded me of the song Jodie Foster sings in Bugsy Malone.

                                    "My name is Kalulu..."

Not a song, but when I hear Barca left back Jordi Alba's name mentioned, my brain always defaults to: 'Jordi Alba! Man of mystery! Clairvoyant extraordinaire!'

It's a Tiswas thing that I should've forgotten years ago.

Everton's substitute keeper, Virginia, has given me an earworm of 'Only the Good Die Young' by Billy Joel.
