How have I never heard of Abe Van Der Ban?

My brother sent me this image and I was blown away that I'd never heard of this most amazing mustachioed player. He got it from this web page - http://www.oldschoolpanini.com/2016/...n-den-ban.html.
He played during the era when I most followed the sport. And what a most remarkable name of 3-3-3-3 letters. Curious to get OTFs input.
