    Nickname 'Nijinsky'. 48 caps, would have been many more if today's qualifying formats were in effect. Was he a direct replacement for Bobby Charlton or a different kind of player?

      He was a bit more box to box than Charlton hence Bobby’s better scoring record.

      I did see him score a wonderful lob at Anfield once in a 4-1 Liverpool win.

        He was also only 29 and in exceptional physical condition when the injury that ruined his career took place. He would have had a lot more caps even with the reduced international timetable of the 70's.

        In terms of style think Bryan Robson with the elegance and eye for a pass of Glenn Hoddle. He was that good.
